Chris Cuomo gave the best speech of the night on day three of the DNC and it wasn’t from the stage. 🔥🔥🔥 Cuomo ripped Democrats for lying to their voters while wealthy donors are sitting in $1M suites above them at the DNC. “Look at the ring of suites. This is not unique to Democrats. There is a game of money.” “When people talk about uniparty, we are strangled by the money reality in our politics. Those suites start at 500 grand. You think there's like a teacher group up in there?” “Do you know how much money Harris has raised in the last couple of weeks? Hundreds of millions. A lot of it's small donor. A lot of it isn't.” “The most dangerous money in politics is now legal money... The idea that they can fight against it is almost laughable. So look and listen when you are told these things, 'cause I don't care what they promise you.” Video: @ChrisCuomo

@FreightAlley I’d say foreign language always helps. As well as engineering and law. Engineering helps you build much beyond just individual things, but helps create an engineering mindset to life. And being very well versed in the law helps infinitely.

My 17-year-old is thinking about college. Many subjects he will take in college won't be relevant to entrepreneurship. Some will—my recommendations for which classes he should take seriously as a future entrepreneur): Finance: Money is fuel for businesses; knowing how to secure, manage, and retain it is paramount to running a successful business. Without it, you are dead. Cash is king, and there are many ways to finance a business. When running a business, I spend more time thinking about finance than any other topic. Accounting—While he may never become an accountant, understanding the mechanics and language of accountants will help him grow his finance skills. English (writing) - effective writing is the most critical skill a founder can have. The most successful founders have one superpower - they can communicate effectively. Nothing helps someone improve their communications better than becoming a skilled writer. Public speaking—While effective writing is far more important (it has the potential for far greater impact), speaking clearly and persuasively can have a tremendous impact on a founder's success in achieving goals, whether it is an investor, client, or public presentation. Economics: The laws of supply and demand drive the business cycle. Every industry has a unique cycle but is impacted by the macro economy. Understanding the cycles will help founders make the decisions they need to make: when to invest, when to harvest, and when to prepare for the worst. What other courses are critical to a founder's success?

A study was published on how personality traits relate to life satisfaction. The no.1 trait of people satisfied with life? “Having a lot of fun.” Here’s what else they found:

@girdley Our democracy, education, healthcare, national debt, culture, population health, and list a million miles long is/are in decline. We might be located in the right place, but 350 million unhealthy, uneducated, violent, aimless, pill addicted, valueless people adds up to hell.

1) Mississippi River System Largest naturally navigable waterway in the world by far. You can sail from the Gulf of Mexico to Minnesota. And transportation by water is 10x-30x cheaper. So US goods get an unfair advantage. Inland places like Pittsburg have clear ocean access!

New South Park nails it. Health insurance is complete racket: when I was sick (paid into insurance entire life, never used it) at age 33 they tried to deny coverage. MDs at Stanford Oncology had to plead case. Took us weeks. While at my worst. Burn it down

I watched “A Postcard from Earth” at the Sphere. It’s the default video that features an immersive video and sound experience about earth for visitors to the Sphere. The plot is simple: humans have destroyed earth through excess we’ve been forced to relocate to another planet. The AI on the spaceship has preserved film of our once-great planet to “remember”. The irony of sitting in the world’s largest LED facility, located in an artificial city, being lectured by a film about destroying Mother Earth through excess consumption is massively hypocritical. Other than, it was really cool.

@IOHK_Charles I agree we can't tax our way out of our national debt. And yeah, it's pretty silly the current administration can't wrap their heads around the benefits of the crypto industry as a whole.

@miramurati The technology sounds interesting. But, it is beyond deeply concerning that your organization was founded as an open source nonprofit and is now a closed for profit- when so much is at stake.
