@QuinnyPig funny how they could do ip.aws (with ip4/ip6.aws variants) and have the shortest one but they use these domain abominations instead
English

The sheer amount of typing / domain levels in these endpoints that you have to remember tells you everything about AWS’s DevEx journey.

Did you know AWS has a find my IP service? Read the blog here: go.aws/4rItAtK

@sv3ppa @Jringg_ @unkn0wn_path @Shitpost_2048 And its estimates are hilariously wrong outside of tech content, since tech enthusiasts are the absolute majority of the users.
English

@Jringg_ @unkn0wn_path @Shitpost_2048 Not exactly, it adjusts the numbers of people with the add-on who like and dislike to be larger with the same ratio.

Introducing Desloppify v0.9.9!
I'm so confident it can refactor codebases competently that I'll put my money where my mouth is.
If it does something stupid to your code, I'll give you $1k.
If it does something stupid to >1 codebase, we'll have a good ol' fashioned battle of the stupidest - one winner takes all.
Details below.

@duggsby @PickleFiddler12 @pcgamer Exactly, that's why Bedrock must die. JVM is cross-platform anyway.
English

@PickleFiddler12 @pcgamer Modding is a whole other thing compared to official game updates, modders don't have to optimize their new content to work on two versions of the game

Overhauling Minecraft's world generation was like 'trying to build a skyscraper with hand tools' which basically scared Mojang off of continuing massive yearly updates pcgamer.com/games/survival…

@Atoo07 @mil0theminer they also check the app integrity itself, so piko and x-lite have borked logins
English

@mil0theminer btw twitter now requires strong device integrity + 1yo or newer security patch!

@Tort77019 @evpunker @GregoryMcFadden Most games without kernel level anticheat already run out of the box just fine via Proton. On distros like CachyOS and Bazzite, it's literally just click "install" and then "play" in Steam
Gaming is not the problem of Linux, software like CADs, DAWs and the Adobe suite are
English

@evpunker @GregoryMcFadden A Linux gaming OS would kill Microsoft imo
English

@ChoidGPT @ixConsole @Roblox_RTC that's the parents fault for not watching their kid, not other peoples

@logscore @Thereallo1026 Ah yes, Google, the company famous for consistent use of their own standards between their products

@LavenderLovetap @MSchazad87778 @xdadevelopers EAC literally works on Linux. It's a single toggle in the developer's settings panel. Not supporting Linux is entirely the dev's choice.
English

@MSchazad87778 @xdadevelopers It was ALWAYS inertia.
Out of all the tech companies, microsoft is the richest. They lobby gamedevs to use the anticheat they sponsor- epic games "easyanticheat"
wich is designed not to work on linux.
Simply put: microsoft is holding games hostage.

@NightShadow666 @CachyOS If GTK apps are performing weirdly on your install, run a system update, will probably fix it
English

@CachyOS For the new and dumb users like me, what does this actually mean? is there anything on users end that they have to do?
English

Little update on this:
We used in our build containers for the C/CXXFLAGS "-fno-semantic-interposition" which has been in the past year's also properly working. After the recent glibc update this seem to be problematic causing the issue. We have removed this flag now.
CachyOS@CachyOS
Earlier today, an issue in our repository prevented GTK apps from launching after a system update. We began debugging immediately after the first report. A workaround was provided within 10 minutes, and a full fix was officially deployed at the 45-minute mark.
English

@hpe00 @theo @DaanvanHulsen This issue is present across every app. Please excuse the small indie company Google - they can't be expected to provide a working API.
English

@theo @DaanvanHulsen imagine blaming the model for your own inability to handle streaming terminal states

@WizardlyBump17 @IrisShaders On early dev stages, when the 'move fast and break things' still applies, taking time to review PRs and issues would kill momentum by a lot IMO
English

@IrisShaders i dont mean to be rude, but why not before? that way it could be good faster
English

okay, been seeing a lot of thoughts about this, so to get everyone up to speed.
The new mod is named Aperture, and is currently in private beta. It does not support old packs, and there's... honestly not much to show, as I just started on the Vulkan rewrite last month.
Iris Shaders@IrisShaders
@AtilesSalcedo @slicedlime @_MINECRAFT_LIVE Iris will be discontinued. I have been working on a brand new shader mod for the past two years.

@notkirb_ @gallitagen @hakluke It's literally fixed by refreshing the page and/or updating your ublock filters
English

@gallitagen @hakluke its actually an anti-ad-blocker measure. literally no way to fix it other than disabling your ad blocker.
