Young men were reported doing doughnuts in multiple vehicles between 9:27 PM and 10:48 PM. Several residents called police to no avail. The vast majority of space in the Washington Avenue loft district consists of residential lofts. Sustaining these historic buildings requires keeping them occupied with rents and values that outpace inflation. Without that, vacancies and physical deterioration will continue to erode the district’s street-level vitality.
