The annual Pentecost tradition (today!) at Rome's Pantheon is a moment of extraordinary beauty. It occurs every year on the seventh Sunday after Easter. At noon, after the Holy Mass, thousands of rose petals are dropped through the oculus of the mighty dome. As the petals fall, a choir sings "Veni Sancte Spiritus," known as the Golden Sequence, a masterpiece of sacred Latin poetry. This is to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Virgin Mary and the Apostles. The rose petal ritual likely dates back to 607 AD when the pagan temple became a Christian church.

@NEMonarchist SSPX’s situation is completely different. If they proceed with consecrations on July 1st, we’ll be able to toast the declaration of their excommunications for Independence Day.

Cardinal Slipyi: >consecrated multiple bishops against the wishes of the Pope >claimed 'grave necessity' >sacraments widely available; the only 'necessity' is preservation of the historical Greek Catholic Rite in Ukraine >never excommunicated or charged with schism >cause for canonization under consideration dang, that’s crazy

@duckslaw @thelb236 I thought the name looked familiar! I didn't recognize him with the cowboy hat. He used to celebrate the Dominican rite in San Francisco, and was the MC to a few of Archbishop Cordileone's Pontifical TLMs. I served for him a number of times. I'm kind of shocked by this.

@thelb236 The weekend after TC was released, he was filling in for a local diocesan pastor to say the dominican rite. His homily blamed the laity for it. Some people got up and left.

@TiStick @kirk_quotes @molcranenewman @redsteeze @NYCMayorsOffice The psychos are the deliberately obtuse social empaths who refuse to read the writing on the wall regarding the vermin who have spent the better half of 1500 years ruining European (and now American) society. I'm not worried though. Folks like you are on their way out.

I have read some truly evil things in my life... Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, comes close to what I read in the search warrant for Joshua Gilliam and Ronald Lynch. These two married men have 5 BOYS, in North Carolina. They have been arrested for r*pe, child p*rnography, and grooming. The victims are a 5-year-old and a 15 year-old... but police say many many more charges are coming. ...but it gets worse. Last year... in May of 2025, the NC State Bureau of Investigation sent Harnett County a cybertip about Ronald Wayne Lynch, possible child se*ual abuse material. NO CHARGES WERE FILED. In MAY 2026... 1 FULL YEAR LATER ...a second cybertip arrived. This time naming his husband, Joshua Lee Gilliam, in the r*pe of a five-year-old and the grooming of a fifteen-year-old. THEN charges were filed. For both men. Please read that again... a year went by. A year in which children remained in that household. What happened to those children in that year? The details of this case are so sickening and so horrifying I have had to walk away from my laptop. Truly the most vile things I've ever read in my life, bar none. I'm at a loss for words that evil like this can evil exist at this depth. How was this never seen? Why did no one say anything? How can this happen in America?!!!!

NYP Reporter: Prior to boarding Air Force One to depart Beijing, the entire U.S. delegation disposed of every item provided to them by their Chinese hosts. Gifts, badges, pins, and commemorative items were all dumped into a trash bin on site. The directive was absolute, no item of Chinese origin was permitted to board the aircraft. The precautions extended beyond the departure itself. Delegation members had left all personal electronic devices at home before traveling to China and operated exclusively on clean burner phones throughout the duration of the trip.

The Muslim community in the UK is outraged at the way police detained the 45-year-old Muslim immigrant who stabbed two Jewish people in London this morning. According to them, officers used excessive force in a ‘dehumanizing’ and ‘Islamophobic’ manner.

@BrainyPirate @jarldietrich 1. A nun's habit is her daily attire, more analogous to a priest's cassock, not his chasuble (or in the case of a bishop) his mitre. These are ritual clothes used only for the sacrifice of the Mass. 2. Nobody cares what you have to say about Catholicism given your fággotry.

Sedevacantists go one day without being miserable challenge. Imagine getting angry over children playing and being happy. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

& against the backdrop of vocal anti-gay teaching, the faithful came to realize that we have a high % of priests who are gay & active (which, sorry folks, is just as true of trads as of libs in '26.) One can see why Francis & Leo are trying to shift the tone if not the doctrine.

Hard to think of an issue that has brought greater tension to the Church than homosexuality. I recall seeing data awhile back that it was the Church's vocal stance against homosexuality, more than the abuse crisis, that fueled exodus of young folks in the 90s-00s.

@KofC As a Catholic I'm much more disappointed that Peter's successor has carried water for an Islamic terrorist state while parading in an Islamist shithole country talking about our "communion" with them. Pope Leo needs to convert to Christianity.

Knights of Columbus
Knights of Columbus@KofC·
Statement From Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly: In recent days, many Catholics and other people of goodwill have been deeply disappointed by the disparaging comments directed at Pope Leo XIV by the President of the United States. The Successor of Saint Peter is not a politician — he is the Vicar of Christ, entrusted with proclaiming the Gospel and shepherding souls. The Knights of Columbus has always stood in solidarity with the Holy Father, recognizing in him a spiritual father who calls the world not to division, but to unity, not to conflict, but to peace. In this moment, we reaffirm that commitment with clarity and conviction. At the same time, we recognize that faithful Catholics can and do engage vigorously in the public square, and that nations have a right and duty to safeguard the security of their own people — always in accordance with the demands of justice and the pursuit of peace. The Church does not ask Catholics to withdraw from civic life, but to engage with and elevate it — bringing to our civic dialogue the light of truth, respect for the dignity of every human person, and a steadfast concern for the common good. Pope Leo XIV has consistently called for peace, dialogue, and restraint in a world marked by war and suffering. The Holy Father’s words are not political talking points — they are reflections of the Gospel itself. Whether one agrees or disagrees with particular policy judgments, the Holy Father’s prophetic voice deserves to be heard with respect and engaged seriously. As Knights, we are called to be men of unity, as followers of Christ and patriotic citizens. I encourage all Knights of Columbus to pray for the Holy Father, to pray for civic leaders, and to pray for peace and those working to achieve it. And let us recommit ourselves to charity in our public discourse. May we be known not for echoing the divisions of our time, but for healing them. In a moment of tension, the path forward is not louder conflict, but deeper fidelity — to truth, to charity, and to the Gospel.

On his flight from Algeria to Cameroon, Pope Leo XIV told reporters: "I think the visit to the mosque was significant and to say that that uh although we have different beliefs, we have different ways of worshiping, we have different ways of living, we can live together in peace. And so I think that to promote that kind of image is something which the world needs to hear today, and that together we can continue to offer in our witness as we continue on this apostolic voyage."
