Oh that’s pure BS! I’m not a racist. I do believe in merit hiring. I don’t care about the color of skin, sex or sexual preference. I just want an employee that can actually do the job well & can follow a dress code. Sincerely, no employer wants an employee that sports pink, blue or any distracting colored hair, multiple obvious body piercings, behaves as though they are doing a customer a favor, etc. The attributes I’m adverse to are lousy appearance, lousy attitude & incompetence in their job. A person’s sex or color of skin is obviously irrelevant to me. Also, their sexual preference is irrelevant. I honestly don’t care to know, irrelevant! I want the best, most competent person for the position. I’m meritocracy all the way! You statement was appalling! Get a life!

OBTAINED FIRST BY @cbsnews@kristincbrown: All federal employees in DEI roles have to be placed on paid leave by 5pm Wednesday as those offices and programs are being ordered shut down, according to @USOPM memo.

@hashib26 @no_fear_inc @photomatt @jdevalk It seems like you A. Missed the point of the correction, and B. Have no idea what that article says. He left a “leadership” position where he had no say in things he thought he would, and now wants to actually lead.

Let’s be clear: Karim and I asked for and proposed change inside the #WordPress project. *We* did not talk about a fork.

@erinmikail The worst kind of days! I’ve had a bunch of them lately. Hopefully yesterday and today have been better.

@notamateurhour @KR1573N I also think it hits us band geeks who've obsessed over (at least one movement of) The Planets extra hard, too.

@KR1573N @notamateurhour There have been a few times when I’ve tested up just telling people about Baby Race. Gets me every time.

So... it finally happened! After 1 year of learning to code and 2 rounds of #100DaysOfCode, this week I'm officially onboarding for a job as a C#/.NET Technical Writer😭💜 That means I'll be getting PAID to code and learn new things, I'm so happy!

@elliezub Sometimes I find the answer to a specific problem/question I am running into, but most of the time, it gives me a different way to look at the problem, which leads to me finding a different way to solve the problem than what the other person did.

@elliezub You got this! If I get stuck on something, I start looking around at other people's solutions. As long as I don't copy anything, and I write my own implementation by hand, I don't consider it "cheating."

Day 100 of #100DaysOfCode ☃️ Finally completed my 2nd round of 100 days of code! During the first round, I literally coded every day for 100 days straight, this time I let myself take breaks when needed. I'm thinking about writing a blog about my experience and the pros and cons between the two methods🤔 As for my progress today, I'm feeling much better now so was able to get into a semi-normal study routine. Here’s what I did: - Watched some of the cs50 week 2 video - Practiced C# on Edabit - Completed C# ‘References’ module on codecademy Had a busy last 2 days so I got a bit off track with Advent of Code (day 3 was really confusing so I think I lost my motivation), now I’m behind and not sure if I should go back to day 3 or just start with the current day🤷🏻‍♀️

@ParissAthena I was randomly thinking about this question yesterday. I was thinking about having a spot to mount my phone in the shower, and I couldn't remember which direction I usually face.

@elliezub That way, if the new problem is easier for me to understand, I’ll get stars more quickly (and not let the new puzzles pile up), and solving new problems usually helps me think better when I go back to the older one.

@elliezub Congrats! I’ve been meaning to try starting 100DaysOfCode for a while, but I’m not on here much to keep it up to date. My approach to advent of code is usually to start on today’s problem and then go back to days I missed/didn’t finish.

@ffkiv @IanColdwater I actually kinda like this, though. I mean, it definitely isn’t what you asked for. It’s cool though.

@KR1573N Something snapped with my Apple Music Replay, because the number of plays I have for the Laurie Berkner Band dropped by like 8,000 randomly. Definitely switching some devices to my daughter’s account for next year, though.

@PeterSMagnusson @gitpush_gitpaid @alexogeny I’ve done some big reformatting of text (CSV to a PHP array) with macros, and VS Code really struggled to work through doing several repeats, but emacs did it very quickly.

@PeterSMagnusson @gitpush_gitpaid @alexogeny I’ve been considering getting back into emacs, or really trying out neovim, but the setup is more than I want to/have time to deal with right now. As a “vim” user, I’ve found a handful of situations where I would rather be using something like emacs full time, but it isn’t often.
