We need merit-based immigration with a safe refugee policy so Albertans come first for good-paying jobs. We need Alberta justice in Alberta Courts to keep families safe. Let’s restore democracy—no more unelected senators. A free and independent Alberta is good.

I don't think separatists hate Canada. They love it more than the regime, which denigrates our history, topples statues, renames our universities, removes Sir John A from our money, changes O Canada and says we're all guilty of genocide. Albertans think they can do better.
Don Braid@DonBraid

Separatist leaders hate Canada but have no real plan for secession. Why is that? Do they count on the U.S. to step in? Column calgaryherald.com/opinion/column… #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli #yyc #yeg

@cnm5000 Danielle is amazing. She’s stuck between a rock and a hard place trying to get a deal ( a real deal) with Ottawa. If that can’t be achieved ( which is likely ) I hope she leads the sovereignty campaign and we get a strong Yes vote.

Alberta Secession - Why?
Being from Nova Scotia you have zero clue about this, but she is doing what she was elected to do. All of her actions are from the platform she ran on. Those of us out West expect that of our politicians. AND, in regards to Alberta sovereignty, she is not doing near enough.

Danielle Smith will go down in the history books as one of the biggest traitors to Canada. Putting partisan games and personal ambition ahead of the country!

It’s Official: Alberta will vote on Independence after years of abuse from the rest of Canada. If it succeeds, it's 80% odds Alberta applies to join the US.

CBC and CTV strongly oppose the Alberta independence movement. Keep that in mind when looking at who they usually go to for interviews from the pro-independence side.

I would guess 20 per cent are hardcore separatists in Alberta, with another 20 to 25 per cent not convinced about separation but they are open to sending a chilling message to rest of Canada. What is your estimate?
CTV Question Period@ctvqp

Former Alberta premier Jason Kenney says he thinks hardcore separatists in his province are in the "single digits," and the rest of the movement is made up of "frustrated federalists who know separatism doesn't work...but they want to send a message"

Alberta Federation of Labour
🚨 BREAKING: A new report commissioned by the AFL has confirmed Alberta is now the epicentre of disinformation in Canada— largely driven by direct foreign interference. This is a five-alarm fire. 29% of Albertans now rank as "highly disinformed"— nearly DOUBLE the national average. No other province comes even close. Russian state media, MAGA operatives, and AI content farms are targeting Albertans. They want to divide us, and our governments are doing nothing about it.

This sounds cool. But wait. 400 diapers will last a family with a newborn approximately five weeks. The program will cost the state approx. $12.4 million this year alone. That money will be funneled through a company called Baby2Baby, which will then provide their branded diapers to 400 participating in hospitals (California has over 500 hospitals in total.) Meaning that instead of lowering taxes and letting families keep their own money to buy essentials like diapers, California takes their money, pumps it through a “nonprofit” that has overhead and whose CEO made $240,000 in 2024, to provide a “free” service available only in certain locations, and that you could have bought yourself for much cheaper.
FactPost@factpostnews

Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced California will be the first state in the nation to provide free diapers to newborns. Families will receive 400 diapers when discharged from the hospital.

@ikwilson @CoryBMorgan The MOU is a stall tactic by PM to string us along a little while longer. We all know it will never come to fruition. AB must leave confederation. Hopefully Danielle will wake up soon.

Oil industry leaders are now saying plainly what the Alberta-Ottawa MOU ignores: the economics do not work. Cenovus CEO Jon McKenzie says the industrial carbon tax makes Canada uncompetitive and must be reformed or removed to attract capital and grow production. Tamarack’s Brian Schmidt says customers are not paying more for lower-carbon barrels. Strathcona’s Adam Waterous says there is “no evidence anywhere” that the market will pay a premium for decarbonized oil. That matters because without new production commitments, there are no shipper commitments. Without shipper commitments, there is no Pacific pipeline. The MOU is colliding with commercial reality.

Another statement that says nothing. I’m starting to think a pipeline to the north coast of BC will remain nothing but a pipe dream.
Mark Carney@MarkJCarney

In the face of global trade shifts, Premier @ABDanielleSmith and I are working to build a stronger, more independent, and more sustainable economy. We met in Ottawa today to discuss how we can unlock the full potential of Alberta’s resources, lower emissions, and create good career opportunities for Canadians. That’s how we build Alberta strong, and Canada strong for all.

When 7 out of 10 provinces fall below the national average, it tells you how much of the heavy lifting in this country is done by two provinces in particular — Alberta and Saskatchewan. Yet this remains a view held by many Canadians:

7 of 10 Canadian provinces fall below our national GDP per capita $59,529. Most concerning is that Ontario and Quebec - the two most populous - are among them. Hard to improve national performance when the provinces home to over 60% of the population are in this position.
