Yes. The left wants us dead. It's not hyperbole. It's 100% factual. They tell us daily - whether it's lowly "resistors" who know nothing, or top end elitists making "jokes." And, as noted at #Berkley, "Liberals get the bullet too." .@KamalaHarris .@realDonaldTrump #QANON twitter.com/kf9ug/status/9…

It's a brave, divisive, dangerous world the Democrats have wrought. Democrat authoritarians dream of killing Trump, Pence, and Sessions. And she, @KamalaHarris, wants to be your next president. So if she finds you offensive, will she have you offed too? breitbart.com/video/2018/04/…

@shagbark_hick The problem isn't DST or standard time. The problem is that our time zones are too big. Your preference for one over the other will depend directly on where you live in your time zone.

This mom’s daughter was genuinely disturbed by a song from 1978… She pulled up a music video of “Hot Child in the City” from 1978 and her daughter was immediately horrified. The poor girl sat there in disbelief while her mom laughed the entire time. Between the lyrics and the overall vibe, she was genuinely creeped out and ready to shut it off. It’s crazy how songs people used to just sing along to back in the day sounds so off now. We really weren’t paying attention to half the stuff we were listening to. Have you ever shown your kids an old song and watched them have a full meltdown over the lyrics?

Utterly confounding that anybody would pay for this or think to build it. Wouldn't it be better to... go out to dark sky country yourself, set the telescope up, enjoy the whole experience? Instead people want the Astronomy equivalent of OnlyFans? A screen cannot do the night sky justice, period. This post is a test. Do you value the real, the Divine, the romantic? Or do you accept and even pay good money for a weak digital surrogate?
Billy Howell@billyjhowell

Just learned about the concept of a “telescope ranch” in Texas. People pay to have their $10,000+ telescope rigs set up in the middle of TX to avoid light pollution. Every night the roof rolls back off the warehouses. Then you can remote in to your telescope and use it from anywhere in the world.

"Hurt" is not an original by Johnny Cash. The song was written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) in 1994 for the album The Downward Spiral. Rick Rubin had to insist several times on Cash recording his version, at first Johnny found the idea completely insane because the original version is industrial and noisy. At 71, already very ill, almost blind and with trembling hands, Cash completely transformed the band. The iconic video, directed by Mark Romanek, was filmed at the House of Cash (his own museum). June Carter Cash appears looking at him fondly, the video was shot in February 2003, a few months before she died (May) and Johnny himself (September). Trent Reznor was so moved that he declared, "This song is not mine anymore." It is considered one of the best covers of all time.

I can promise you all, I’ve got way more ghetto fatigue than anyone else. I don’t say “black fatigue” because there are tons of us black folks who would never act this way. There’s a major difference between us. This is why I go so hard against the “ghetto/hood rat” community. They ruin everything.

Big Brain Business

Brené Brown, researcher and author, on the contradiction she keeps hearing in rooms full of tech billionaires: Her work puts her in rooms where the founders and CEOs of major tech platforms talk openly about how they think. What @BreneBrown hears there unsettles her: "So I hear someone say, 'Hey, you know, tech billionaire, what should my kids study? I'm worried for my kids… they should study coding, physics,' and then five minutes later, as if that answer didn't happen, someone will say, 'What do you attribute your success to?' I mean deeply when you think about it, and the same person will say, 'My deep reading of philosophy and the stoics.'" The contradiction is what stops her: the same people crediting philosophy and the liberal arts for their own success are telling other parents their kids should focus on coding and physics. That gap leads her to a bigger, more uncomfortable question: "I start to extrapolate from there and wonder if there is a thinking class that's emerging where they're like, 'We're going to read philosophy and we're going to read the liberal arts and we're going to study history, and the rest of you just keep scrolling. Don't worry about the big words. We'll handle all the big words for you.'" She points to Steve Jobs as an early signal of the same pattern: "It's like when they asked Steve Jobs, 'Boy, your kids must love the iPad.' Steve Jobs said, 'My kids don't have an iPad.' And then his biographer who spent time with his family said he wasn't kidding. There's no technology. At dinner, they're talking about art and history." The takeaway is simple but uncomfortable. The people building these platforms are protecting their own kids from them, and giving them books, ideas, and real conversation instead. So why are the rest of us being sold something different?

Once you’re past 35, are you just going to keep being gradually more tired every year for the rest of your life or is a there a second wind somewhere? Anybody suddenly stumble upon newfound energy in their 40s? 50s? 60s, maybe with retirement? Naturally, no HRT or hacks

@M_N_Kaay @BraedenSorbo It was in the video. She saw him at a cafe, then went and talked to his family, then sent the police. Nobody at any point in the video says he spoke to her, so she just took it on herself from the information we have.

I have not seen anybody talking about what’s going on in Canada right now. This man was pulled over and told by police that he had to come with them because a psychiatrist labeled him “certifiable.” No paperwork, no rule of law, just a doctor saying that if he didn’t come with him right then and there that he would be arrested. The fact that a government could do this is terrifying.

I'm just a lame revert who was badly catechized as a child. I don't pretend to understand why you would think the Church says this. You are more knowledgeable than I in this, so I believe you when you say this what has been pushed. However, I pray directly to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and then my guardian angel, Mary, and as many Saints as I think can help. I need an army praying for me in heaven because I sure don't have on in this world. On one hand I'd say I don't really know if it works and I guess because I just don't understand God's plan. On the other, I know I have had at least one prayer directly answered through the intercession of a recently deceased person.

And yet it’s undeniable that the idea behind intercessory prayer as it is taught by the church essentially says that going to God directly to make your request will not yield the same results as if you ask Mary or the saints or the angels. Because if intercessory prayer is necessary, then the question is why? Why should anyone get better results by going through an intermediary rather than going directly to God?

@FloridaFloGrown @NeedlesslyWordy I’m 49 and no the hell we did not get to order a pizza because our mom and dad were working late or tired. That was when you were allowed to pull the frozen lasagna out of the fridge and cook that.

The people telling you to povertymaxx and eat bread sandwiches so you can afford a used car are just plain wrong. Even as far back as the 1800's people were averaging 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day.

Now that we’re on “Vay-Kay” at an Air BnB, I’ve really experienced first hand what it’s like to have zero essentials in the kitchen. To make spaghetti is not as simple as buying pasta, sauce, and meat for $15. I also have to buy olive oil, S&P, sugar, coffee, wine, Saran Wrap, milk, eggs, mayo, mustard, bread, everything! It cost me over $250 to make Spaghetti. Would have been much, much cheaper to just get burgers in town. Who can even live this way! 🍝 🍷

@Elliesmommyy23 The people saying these guys look their age are living on a different planet. Compare this to senior prom pictures from the 80s and 90s. The 17-18 yr old boys looked like MEN then.

@DukeHerndon The stark physical difference between young men and young women of the same age is severely understated. Relationships with significant age gaps are very obviously biologically advantageous.
