@HeidiBriones Never in my life did I think feminism would get the point where they would defend men calling themselves women as if they were real women.

@GuntherEagleman CBS would be sued for breach of contract and wrongful termination PLUS attorneys fees, and sanctions, for firing Tony Romo BEFORE jurisprudence is concluded. Being accused of a crime is not a fireable offense. Becoming convicted of criminality is a morale turpitude breech.

@GuntherEagleman Tony Romo was arrested for driving under the influence so he should be held accountable for his actions. Just like someone who isn't a celebrity would if they did the same thing.

CBS is making a major mistake. If they let Tony Romo walk, don’t expect him to be available for long. NBC and FOX would have every reason to pursue him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a bidding war followed.

@annara1 @kathleenmadigan An open alcoholic beverage in your car is a citation in most states but is not considered evidence of DWI. At best it's considered probable cause to further investigate. The only "evidence" (in Wisconsin) is refusal of a blood test but is not considered a guilty plea.

@Andy15290 @KAHALA123Y Then you should know that it’s not for just getting a job. May I ask you? What do you have a degree in what school did you attend?

It should be illegal to require a bachelor’s degree for a job that pays less than $40k, a master’s degree for under $75k, or a PhD for under $100k. Like, federally illegal to require those degrees for jobs that pay less than these minimums.

@Blue8E @KendraMiddleton It's not a criminal offense. It's a traffic ticket. Any other state, yes. Wisconsin, no.

@CallahanAutoCo They still have to pay him probably. His contract may contain a clause for being convicted of a crime but he has not even been convicted yet. He will get paid.

@CallahanAutoCo If you work for a large corporation and a visible member of that company. You should know that if you get charged with a crime and yes something as serious as drunk driving, don’t be surprised if you lose that job If he can pay someone to drive him why didn’t he?

He's on indefinite leave until further notice, because CBS has no frickin' idea what Tony's sentence is gonna be for the DUI. It could be brief jail time, or a couple hunnert hours of community service. They don't know. So to prevent scheduling conflicts, they are announcing he's on leave until this gets hashed out. I've been following Tony's story since he was a rookie with the Cowboys. He's not an arrogant shitheel. He knows he messed up. He knows he needs to do better. He'll always have this on his record, having embarrassed himself, being forced to sit on the sidelines for a few games while JJ Watt fills in for him, while he waits to find out what the courts will decide about his case.

NEW: CBS says analyst Tony Romo is "on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice" just one week after his drunk driving arrest in Wisconsin. Former Houston Texans defensive lineman and CBS' number two analyst J.J. Watt will replace Romo as lead NFL analyst, joining play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz on the network's broadcast team. CBS is prepared for an extended Romo leave, according to an industry source who added that Watt has been told his addition to the lead announcing team is indefinite. Milwaukee County deputies pulled Romo over on Interstate 43 after they said he made an unsafe pass. According to the sheriff's office, he showed signs of impairment, struggled through field sobriety tests and refused a preliminary breath test.

@Joseph328013992 @DezBryant Okay. Im Defending either of these dudes. But most people will not lose their job if they got a DWI, unless they’re in a company vehicle. Misdemeanor charges don’t lead to job lost unless it’s some type of fraud. But Romo was dumb and should lose his. That salary is a privilege

@JayCasino_ @KAHALA123Y Yes, and it's not needed for my job. I have two BS degrees, actually. But when high schools talk about going to college, it's to get a good job, not to get knowledge. Should it be just about knowledge, yes. Is it, no.

@KAHALA123Y I hate government intervention, but I so agree with the point. When they just want a degree but don't care what it's in, that means you really don't need it.
