God should be understood beyond politics. Government is the institutional expression of politics—when it endorses or displays religious doctrine, it is politicizing faith and undermining its universality. This is a flawed decision.

“A thought-provoking exploration of Hindu nationalism, its violence in India, and its growing presence in the US. Meticulously researched and incisively analyzed, Saffron America unveils the rise and spread of the Hindutva movement on American soil. A timely and essential read, it urges us to examine the global reach of extremist ideologies and the urgent need to confront them.”
– @suchitrav, Author and Attorney
“This important compilation throws much-needed light on two aspects of Indian-American diaspora politics: one, active linkages of some diasporic Hindu individuals and organizations with India’s Hindutva project; two, the sustained opposition of diverse diasporic groups to Hindutva-linked activities in the US. This collection deserves a huge welcome as it contributes to enriching global diaspora studies, especially in relation to developing a critique of extremist right-wing politics. It is also a unique contribution to the contemporary history of American society and political economy.”
– Dr. @prof_pritam, Professor Emeritus, Oxford Brookes University
“This invaluable work unveils a quietly rising far-right movement in the US that is threatening the very fabric of American society.”
– @raqib_naik, Kashmiri-American journalist
“As human rights experts warn that religious minorities are pushed to the brink of genocide in India, Friedrich delivers a timely and scholarly analysis on the hate ideology driving this climate of fear and its links to America. He identifies and analyzes US-based Hindutva groups and individuals, showcasing their dubious activities and revealing how they have embedded themselves within mainstream politics and civil society. This is a wake-up call like no other.”
– @cjwerleman, Journalist and Activist
“Saffron America is an unflattering exposure of the tentacular reach of Hindu nationalism into US political life. Friedrich is the only independent investigative journalist in the US to doggedly track every American politician and political event with connections to the transnational networks of the militant Hindu outfit, the RSS. This book is a warning about the dangers of ignoring Hindutva's growing influence in the US.”
– Dr. Sruti Bala, Associate Professor, University of Amsterdam

RSS’s Ram Madhav Runs from Questions About Rape, Immolation, and Massacre Outside Hudson Institute
Ram Madhav, president of the India Foundation and member of the RSS National Executive, walked out of Hudson Institute today after speaking on an American policy panel with a sitting US State Department official.
I asked him on camera — about the RSS’s record, and about his presence in the United States.
About the RSS’s record:
— What do you have to say about the RSS burning Christians alive?
— What do you have to say about the RSS gang-raping Muslim women?
— What do you have to say about the RSS massacring Christians and Muslims in India?
— What do you have to say about the RSS lynching people for eating beef?
— What do you have to say about the RSS raping Christian nuns?
And about his activity on American soil:
— Why are you in America, Mr. Madhav?
— What is your agenda in this country?
— What are you attempting to influence in American politics?
— Who are you meeting with?
— Are you reporting it?
He said nothing. He got in the car. He drove off.
With him: Vijay Chauthaiwale, BJP Head of Foreign Affairs. And Adapa Prasad, the BJP’s FARA-registered foreign agent in the United States.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a Hindu nationalist paramilitary founded in 1925. It has been banned three times by the Indian government — after Gandhi’s assassination, during the Emergency, and after the Babri Masjid demolition. On March 4, 2026, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom recommended the RSS be sanctioned by the US government.
Fifty days later, Hudson Institute put the RSS’s General Secretary on a Washington stage. Ram Madhav was there as the co-panelist with a sitting US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bethany Poulos Morrison.
Hudson Institute is a US tax-exempt 501(c)(3), subsidized by the American public. Its Washington offices sit four blocks from the White House. It has been in a formal thirty-month partnership with the India Foundation — led by the son of India’s National Security Adviser, its board including sitting Indian government ministers, its president a member of the RSS National Executive.
The Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, and the congressional committees with jurisdiction over foreign influence and tax-exempt organizations have a responsibility to examine this partnership.
USCIRF did its job on March 4. The question today is whether the rest of the American government will do theirs.
Filmed outside 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington DC at @HudsonInstitute headquarters.

Why is US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bethany Poulos Morrison meeting Indian paramilitary RSS at Hudson Institute today? The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a Hindu nationalist paramilitary. The US government’s own @USCIRF recommended sanctions against it fifty days ago, on March 4, 2026. Today, a sitting US State Department official is scheduled to share a Hudson Institute panel with Ram Madhav — a member of the RSS National Executive. Who at @StateDept authorized this? @SecRubio? @HudsonInstitute

Rev. Jesse Jackson, the civil rights champion and Baptist minister who made two runs for the White House, has died. He was 84 years old.
“His unwavering belief in justice, equality, and love uplifted millions, and we ask you to honor his memory by continuing the fight for the values he lived by,” his family said in a statement.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Jackson spent just two semesters at the University of Illinois on a football scholarship before transferring to North Carolina A&T, a historically Black university in Greensboro. He went on to study at the Chicago Theological Seminary before focusing his efforts on the civil rights movement.
In 1971, Jackson started the Chicago-based nonprofit organization People United to Save Humanity, known as Operation PUSH, which lobbied to improve economic opportunities for Black people and those in poverty. He founded the Rainbow Coalition in 1984 and, in 1996, the two nonprofits merged to form Rainbow PUSH.
Jackson made history with two presidential campaigns in the 1980s, becoming the second Black candidate from a major party to run for the Oval Office. He finished second, behind Gov. Michael Dukakis, for the 1988 Democratic nomination.
Jackson would go on to be elected as a “shadow senator” for the District of Columbia.
President Bill Clinton awarded Jackson the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, in 2000.
Jackson’s effect on American politics has seemingly been erased, journalist and author Abby Phillip told PBS News Hour’s Geoff Bennett last year. His presidential campaigns centered on the power of the Black vote and “that people of all backgrounds could unite underneath a basic economic vision of fairness for working-class and poor people,” Phillip said, “... a message that is very much up for grabs right now in American politics.”
In 2017, Jackson was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He stepped down from leading Rainbow PUSH in 2023. He received cheers and applause during an on-stage appearance at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

Mr Chandrababu Naidu & Superstar Mr Pawan Kalyan, can I request your attention towards this video please 🙏
Since you both are champion supporters of Modi-BJP, we request you to kindly learn from them and rename Andhra Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh.
Once that is done we South Indians will reconcile and stop feeling bad about such racial and caste discrimination crimes here.
There ought to be some limit to how low you both can stoop down.
