A heartwarming scene! At a subway station, a mother cuddling her weary child while waiting for someone gradually looked increasingly exhausted. After a police officer spotted her, he thoughtfully brought over a stool and the youngster appeared to doze off in the mother's arms. (Source: Ministry of Public Security) #ChinaSeen

🎥 NEW: Jeremy Scahill reported this morning that Iranian officials say the U.S. has accepted Iran’s red lines in the latest revisions to the ceasefire declaration, but is asking for time to “manage domestic public opinion” before formally announcing acceptance of the interim agreement.
Dr. Foad Izadi of the University of Tehran says Iran will want proof Washington is serious about ending the war, including the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.
“If the U.S. cannot give the money that belongs to Iran back to Iran, and the U.S. cannot put a leash on Netanyahu and stop him from going on a rampage in Lebanon, then it shows that this conflict has not ended,” Izadi says.
“This is a test for Iran to see what’s going on with the other side.”

✨🇨🇳With 10 days left until China's Gaokao (college entrance exam), a high school teacher organized a hotpot party for his entire class. The teacher even served as a "senior waiter," refilling soup and adding seasonings for the students, aiming to help them relax and boost their morale before the crucial exam.

@RepDonBacon Churchill vs Chamberlain is total fake news. Czech gov wrote a private letter to Churchill for help since he was so vocal opposing Chamberlain's deal. Churchill replied that he would have done the same thing if he was PM.

@RepPatHarrigan China should stop buying those fucking western assets in distress. Once China makes investment and revive the assets. West will use national security as excuse to take it back. The same shit as Panama & Auz ports, Dutch chip makers. WTF

Cirrus Aircraft, the most delivered piston aircraft manufacturer in America, has been wholly owned by the CCP's primary aerospace and defense conglomerate since 2011.
The same Chinese company that builds fighter jets and drones for the PLA has been sitting inside our aviation industry for nearly 15 years.
How did we let this happen?

@securestates1 @RepPatHarrigan Can you list 1 "Cirrus’ pioneering technology" that was lifted & later applied to China's aircraft? AVIC bought Cirrus from Bahrain (not US) owner who got hit by 2008 crisis & need cash. No one wanted to buy but AVIC who revived Cirrus. Now US wants to take it back.
English

You ask an important question, Congressman!
In 2011, former Minnesota Congressman, Chip Cravaack, saw flashing red lights with this “deal” when he was a Freshman. He urged CFIUS to exercise “extreme caution” to CCP-tied AVIC as Cirrus’ pioneering technology would be lifted or reverse engineered for military aircraft application.
Some trustworthy sources say some technology was quickly lifted and applied to CCP military aircraft.
The sale of Cirrus to CCP/China was also a disaster as it was the most pioneering and successful 🇺🇸 aircraft manufacturer since the 1920s and 1930s with Cessna, Beechcraft and Piper!
As is still quite typical of controversial transactions before CFIUS, such concerns are dismissed as “unfounded,"
or so-called “workarounds” are hatched that are unfortunately worked around.
It would be good to have warfighters have the final say on any transaction under review by CFIUS with CCP/China that would either jeopardize our national security and/or give any advantage to our greatest adversary in this Cold War.
OR modernize and beef up the National Security Act and include prohibitions of such risky transactions among comprehensive reforms applying to all sectors and strata - education, foundations, corporations, government, military, et al.
All of this was driven by a naive pre-2010s policy consensus: US governments that promoted economic engagement with China. WTO accession in 2001, open capital markets, and FDI were seen as win-win, weak and narrow national security reviews, etc.
Our national security needs to be on the footing that is commensurate with the threat from CCP/China.
