@TradDeshastha Deshastha here. Depends on the driver and occasion. If driver is friendly and if we're there for big ocassion we have invited him for lunch at home multiple times. If its short visit and the host need to make additional efforts to cook food then we ask driver to eat out

@NowhereLand7 That being said we can not also deny about constant opposition to each and every project that we get. Pune hardly gets any projects and whatever we get faces opposition. If you have seen any project getting completed without opposition feel free to share

@NowhereLand7 Every leader works for betterment of his region, nothing wrong in it. Latur got best development during Vilasraojis tenure, baramati was developed during Sharadjis tenure. Every region needs such visionary leaders. And i said same thing that Pune doesn't get it's fair share

@Pranav1X @AmeyKulkarni_21 Current cost estimation is about 50k crore, it will only go higher and higher. Also in railway it's difficult to recover capex. For road you can charge toll tax.

@Anonymous_fell @AmeyKulkarni_21 How is it we are able to spend 14k cr on 10-15 km coastal road 50-60k cr on samruddhi but when it comes to rail its suddenly too expensive always , more people will use nashik-pune train in a week than any highway in a month probably

@Adarsh_Ashay @NowhereLand7 @AmeyKulkarni_21 That's the whole point, any infra project, any alignment you'll always see opposition in Western Maharashtra. Also, no leader is ambitious enough to push infra project like Fadanvis does for Nagpur. Otherwise Mumbai Kolhapur e-way is need of an hour but no politican will push it

@Anonymous_fell @NowhereLand7 @AmeyKulkarni_21 Arey even nagpur goa expressway was opposed so much they had to change the alignment in western maharashtra. Land acquisition is very difficult in certain parts of Maharashtra. It is very difficult to build somewhere where already infra exists

@NowhereLand7 @AmeyKulkarni_21 I am yet to see a project in Pune for which locals have not opposed, or have not gone to court for stays, have not tried to do gimmicky things just to stall the project.

@NowhereLand7 @AmeyKulkarni_21 My tweet was about opposition to any major infra project in Pune and not only about Pune Nashik, thus I've attached different links. I agree that Pune gets step motherly treatment from State and Central govt but at the same time locals also have habit of opposing all the projects

@Anonymous_fell @AmeyKulkarni_21 Good excuse! People are eager for Pune-Nashik SHSR and LA had started in earlier MVA gov itself. If you don't want to do it, at least no question intelligence of citizens by giving lame excuses. Radio telescope is a good(/hard to argue against) excuse though.

@AmeyKulkarni_21 There's no major state govt project near Pune. Even for Purandar airport, they haven't been able to acquire land parcel till date. They're not able to expand Pune-Ahilyanagar Road. Land acquisition issue is the reason Pune has half complete bridge near balewadi.

@watARSHmelon @indianlady1947 You're correct about water being available in Hyderabad but you can't take away water quality of Mumbai or even pune for that matter. In both the cities we've lived 20 odd years without using water purifier. Specially Mumbai has best water purification system

Hyderabad will never get there :) Two things we've gotten to near perfection is power & water. Don't think any metro city in India is as water secure as us. Just another year more for Sunkishala and another few for Mallanna Sagar connection. Two mostly for few decade needs.

No focus on water desalination plant. No focus on one more man made lake for storing Monsoon water.

@pnqiad You still have hopes about NPIA? I will be surprised if complete land acquisition occurs in next 5 years. Pune infra projects don't get priority like Mumbai ones.

@UC_Assist I've had multiple conversations, but I've lost the trust in the brand. Was thinking of purchasing locks and wall panelling but the water purifier experience was an eye opener about the standard of UC service. All I am planning to do is educate other folks about not falling for UC

@rajtoday Mishap has happened but the way things are handled is beyond pathetic. There is not a single announcement from @Central_Railway official page about the mishap, helpline numbers, train regulations and reschedules leaving passenger in discomfort.Example of how not to tackle mishap

@meet_abhijit Phenomenon might be old but we're now feeling it more frequently. As you rightly pointed out we need to have some plan to tackle this thing. Problem is not for folks like you and me but for LIG folks that cant afford ACs, they literally have no place to cool down their bodies

“Urban Heat Island suddenly trending like it was invented this week 😄” Yes, UHI is real—no one denies that. But let’s not oversimplify it just to fit the current outrage. Concrete and asphalt absorb heat during the day and release it slowly at night. So the real impact is: 👉 Night temperatures stay 2–4°C higher than nearby rural/open areas 👉 That’s why cities feel more uncomfortable after sunset. Daytime? It’s not as one-sided as people claim. Shaded streets, buildings, and reduced direct exposure can actually make localized areas feel slightly cooler (by ~1–2°C) than open barren land! The real discomfort in cities during the day often comes from humidity + poor ventilation + heat reflection, not just raw temperature. Now comes the part nobody wants to talk about: Cities expand because people move there for opportunities. You can’t demand: “Stop concretization” ❌ While also saying “everyone come to cities” ❌ That’s not how it works. If someone wants zero urban heat effect, then logically: Either decentralize population Or accept that dense cities = altered microclimate. You can’t have: ✔ Mega cities ✔ Endless construction ✔ Rising population ✔ And then expect village-like thermal conditions Pick a lane. So yes—urban heat island exists, 👉 It raises night temperatures significantly. 👉 Has mixed or less impact in daytime. But turning every normal summer into a “man-made disaster” narrative is just engagement farming at this point. Nature + urbanization = combined effect. Not everything is a breaking news crisis. #MumbaiWeather #KonkanWeather #Maharashtra #Bharat
