@streetfrontier They should make a gondola from dehradun would probably be 10-15 kms and also increase congestion fee for all taxis, cabs and non mussoorie vehicles it's currently 150-200 rs to 3k for hatchbacks 4k for sedans and 5k for suvs half the traffic will disappear

How do you shoot yourself in the foot? Mussoorie Traders Welfare Association suggestions: - widen roads - develop alternative roads - increase surface parking for cars - build multi-storey parking for cars There isn't a single point in the article on improving public transport and active mobility.

@shedfur @SidXInfra @bhaumikgowande You're using just expressways im using highways and freeways as well where mmr with my criterias comes out to around 140, Seoul 160-170 and Delhi 200

@Pranav1X @SidXInfra @bhaumikgowande > same way delhi metro region has more than Seoul but maps don't show it Seoul Metropolitan area expressway density 37.5 km per 1,000 km² Delhi NCR - 13 km per 1,000 km²

@shedfur @SidXInfra @bhaumikgowande The reason I showed Delhi was to point out it might look like Seoul has alot more than mmr but it is only 2-3x in reality, same way delhi metro region has more than Seoul but maps don't show it

@Pranav1X @SidXInfra @bhaumikgowande I was comparing with MMR but okay, Here is Seoul metropolitan area vs NCR, taken from the same altitude. India is an Infra starved nation, I agree that our main focus should be public transit but that doesn't mean we should stop building roads.

@trainwalebhaiya They serve different purposes rrts is for high volume major cities with frequent stops below 150-200 kms distance for daily commute high frequency , shsr is for 200+ km lesser stops lower frequencies, both are needed in most major cities eg Delhi - dehradun good for shsr

RRTS vs Broad Gauge Semi-HSRs: Which one should India go with? Recently, India announced its first-ever Broad Gauge Semi High-Speed corridor from Ahmedabad to Dholera, a 140 km long line with a design speed of 220 km/h and an operational speed of 200 km/h. This new project makes me wonder what India should go with. On one side, we are developing RRTS, a regional transit system with a design speed of 180 km/h and an operational speed of 160 km/h. Meanwhile, this newly announced BG Semi-HSR will be 25% faster in terms of operational speed at 200 km/h, with potentially lower construction costs, and the added advantage of connectivity with the existing Indian Railways network. I feel that along with HSR on all major routes, India should build BG Semi-HSRs as spurs on the next important corridors. RRTS should be limited to major metropolitan regions, seamlessly connecting suburbs and nearby cities. Just hoping it doesn't turn into a mixed khichdi in the end 🤞 What's your opinion on this?

@AneraoKailash @bodkeitis You need 15-20 buses minimum to compare with even a 4 coach metro now imagine how many you need with 6 coach metro and 100s of train sets

@bodkeitis The answer is to increase e-bus services so that they can become last mile connectivity to Metro 4 (delayed indefinitely) instead of another Metro project. Present strength of public buses in Thane is greatly insufficient to service the present & projected population of Thane.

No clear benefits? Just go on the SATIS and stand in the queue for bus for 45 mins. In any queue, lokmanya Nagar, Upvan, Kolshet. The working class and middle class people will support the project unlike you Anti development NIMBYs. You 4-5 societies are not the ones to decide metro will be constructed or not and also the so called environ'mental'ists should not decide whether the metro is needed or not. It was planned years ago and if you're crying now so it's your problem. If you NIMBYs don't want metro so it doesn't mean the entire city shouldn't want it. #Thaneneedsringmetro #Ringmetrowahibanega

@bodkeitis @SanjayKelkar_ @NishantBangera1 @mumbaimatterz @citizenmatters @GhoshAmitav @GreenStalin @OfficeofUT @mnsadhikrut @fffmumbai1 More and more citizens are coming forward & speaking up in public interest instead of blindly supporting builder lobbies whose only motive is to profit from yet another expensive project with no comparable & clear benefit to Thane’s taxpayers. hindustantimes.com/cities/mumbai-… @mataonline

@bhaumikgowande The comparison isnt fair. Seoul has 10 expressways of 175km length for a population of 9 million. Mumbai has 1 of 29 km for a pop of 24 million. They built far too much hence are able to do such shenanigans. Indian cities are road starved. Need to build more of everything.
