Someone help me regain my sanity. Bought a @WestJet UltraBasic ticket (I’m a silver tier member, have free checked bags and board in Zone 2 as a result) I realized after booking that these flights don’t count towards building up your member tier status. My bad for not reading this when booking. This flight is 4 months from now. I simply wanted to pay the difference to upgrade to economy so I can earn my tier points and continue building loyalty with WestJet. The answer was no. Policy states you can’t upgrade after 24 hours. How is this a good policy for WestJet? I want to pay you more money to upgrade my flight. What am I missing here?

@Jwestman85 @WestJet Why are you a fan of an airline that canceled flights because they dont have a crew and refuses to compensate their customers who are forced to purchase a flight with another airline in order to salvage a fanily cruise vacation?

Just a few observations about consumer facing business. Consumer experience has structurally deteriorated. Companies are less responsive to backlash because social media outrage now has a ~24–48 hour half-life, with limited long-term impact on revenues. At the same time, industry consolidation has reduced competition—many sectors are now dominated by 2–4 players, increasing pricing power and reducing consumer choice. In a world of oligopolies and short attention spans, customer dissatisfaction is no longer a binding constraint—it is a transient cost of doing business. @WestJet

@SonchL @WestJet Every @WestJet and airline employee I encountered and spoke to about my issue in December told me I would get compensated for what @WestJet did bul ultimately @westjet didnt care about customers and what they caused us to lose and we were out about $2000 to fix their mistake

Man, @WestJet sure has turned into a pile of hot garbage. Paid an extra $40 for premium seating when I booked only to get told 5 mins prior to boarding my seat has been reassigned for weight and balance purpose. Asked the girl giving me my new ticket if I was getting a refund and all I got was “we will honor that and you will get a refund” but had no idea how or when that would happen when I tired to follow up. Now I’m just supposed to call customer service. What a joke.

Another disappointing @WestJet experience. They just keep gouging. Tons of room in compartments but got charged a checked bag fee for my personal item (my laptop bag) and had to check it. Highly encouraging others to fly @porterairlines

@BlixNoel @WestJet @porterairlines At least they didn't screw you by canceling a flight just hours before it left because they didn't have a crew forcing us to purchase flights to salvage a vacation with our kid at Christmas and refuse to compensate us for the incurred costs @WestJet sucks

@CTA_gc @WestJexsc Maybe if @WestJet cared about treating customers properly and if the @CTA_gc kept them accountable and helped people then there wouldnt be all these fraudulent accounts popping up taking advantage of frustrated travellers.

@RogersHelps your equipment/boxes are terrible. I cant wait for the next tech I speak to try to tell me I'm wrong about my assessment of our connectivity issues and ask me do things other techs told me to do and offer me solutions that cost me more each month.

@WestJet must be kidding me about the Resolution to the claim we made when they canceled our flight in December, rebooked us on an unacceptable flight, caused us to miss a day of our cruise when we were left to fend for ourselves.... small claims court anyone?
