Even the feds had to finally admit "Alligator Alcatraz" was a boondoggle.
1) It was an environmental shit-show. (Literally. 1,400 people defecating daily in one of the most fragile ecosystems in the country - a place taxpayers spent billions to restore.)

@305Candyman Can you cite sources to back your claims about the funds distribution?

Only in Florida can liberals be this damn stupid 🤡
They’re out here throwing parties with balloons and noisemakers celebrating the closure of Alligator Alcatraz like they actually won something 😂
These clowns have been screaming to shut it down since day one and failed every single time. It wasn’t until Ron DeSantis decided to close it that it’s actually shutting down.
That facility processed nearly 22,000 illegal immigrants, took pressure off the rest of the country’s detention centers, and — most impressively — not a single person escaped from that gator-infested swamp.
It was never meant to be permanent. It did its job, so now we’re shutting it down and letting the alligators take the swamp back.
That’s not a liberal victory — that’s Florida deciding when it’s done.
Keep clapping though ✌️ We do what we want here.

The Elias complaint is dense but three moments in the record do the most work.
One: Poreda admitted on the record to using partisan data across the entire map. The Governor's attorney, Mo Jazil, was then asked whether the map's legal justification depended on the Florida Supreme Court striking down the Fair Districts Amendment in its entirety. He confirmed it did. That is not a legal theory any court has adopted. That is the plan's admitted foundation.
Two: The efficiency gap. The 2012 Florida plan was struck down as unconstitutional with a 7% pro-Republican efficiency gap. The 2002 plan that inspired the Fair Districts Amendment had a 9% gap. The 2026 plan has a 21% gap - the largest pro-Republican efficiency gap of any state with 15 or more congressional districts ever recorded.
Three: The evening after the map was presented to the Legislature, the Florida Secretary of State posted a tribute to Elbridge Gerry - the namesake of gerrymandering - on X. DeSantis's communications director retweeted it with a laughing emoji.
They are not hiding what this is. The lawsuit is in court. The question is whether Florida state courts will enforce the constitutional amendment Florida voters passed by a 25-point margin to prevent exactly this.

@DebbieforFL @livenowfox It does not violate the Florida constitution to change districts which were directly and purposefully made to enforce a specific ethnicity's voting power. There is no case for the whingers.
English

The gerrymandered map passed by the FL Legislature last week is unconstitutional and is already facing legal challenges. But Governor DeSantis feels that the #SCOTUS ruling gives him legal cover. @livenowfox

@marceelias Why did the Equal Ground Education Fund hire an old white male to represent them in their lawsuit?

Right now, I'm BLOCKING a Republican bill to build Donald Trump's ballroom.
Instead of rubber-stamping Trump’s gold-encrusted ballroom, Congress must lower costs for American families. twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…

Palantir, a CIA front company, now has its tentacles in the food supply, our healthcare data, our growing autonomous weapons industry, the military, the entire US intelligence community, border patrol, Space Force and so on.
Seemingly, Palantir is soon to become the testrun for Yarvins "sov-corp", a privatized version of govt that replaces the existing govt and is ruled by a CEO dictator. That is, unless we do something about it.

Know what the voters in FL-6 don’t care about?
Ballrooms.
Farm bankruptcies are up 46% over the last year. The US used to be part of feeding the world is now a net importer of food and not by a little, $47 billion.
@RepFine knows where his next meal is coming from while families in FL-6 continue to struggle with affording it.
Repeal the Trump Tariffs and get out of this war. We can’t afford the cost of Trump.
