Iran attempted to assassinate Israelis abroad during Operation Roaring Lion and came close to succeeding in at least one case. Israelis at a hotel in an undisclosed country received a call from Israel's National Security Council: "Lock the door immediately, hired killers sent by Iran are trying to reach you." The attempt was thwarted with help from the host country. Additional details remain classified. - Channel 14 @tamir114

@IL_politic @BarneyFlames They rly haven't. It is also true tho that the US was very hesitant to grow NATO and had Central European countries begging to let them in as early as 1991--including using their diaspora (esp Poland and to a lesser extent Czechia). But cant blame them. They were right

insane argument given the Eastern Europe lobby that consistently sabotages US-Russia peace efforts
J.J.@euphorobotics

@RobertClark62 @ProfDBernstein Also…ROK and Japan don’t consistently stab us in the back—covertly & overtly. I wasn’t necessarily a big fan of the Iran Deal, but the way Bibi went about trying to wreck it was not the move of an ally. I love Israel, but they need to make major changes.

To be clear, Ben Rhodes is calling Biden a "chickenshit" for not normalizing with the Cuban dictatorship in 2021, which also happens to be when Havana was violently cracking down against the largest anti-government protests the country had seen since the 90s.
The Bulwark@BulwarkOnline

"Biden was a chickenshit, and was afraid to go back to the Obama policy because he was afraid of Bob Menendez." @brhodes explains the Obama administration's rationale in opening travel and trade with Cuba, and how the subsequent rollback helped fuel a humanitarian catastrophe.

@masonq33 @ParanoidPol By polls a supermajority of Israeli Jews favor expelling all Arabs from Israel proper and West Bank and youth are even further right. I believe their institutions will hold and prevent in the short run and ik why post Oslo events had this effect but that’s beyond security worries

@AriM4313 @ParanoidPol You should hear how even center-right Israelis talk about Ben Gvir That said, having well founded criticisms like the ones you point out aren’t “anti-Israel”. You’re supporting Israel against Iran, that’s most of what matters in terms of western values

@TimelessTrvlr It’s incredible and the workers are very knowledgeable (way more than US bookstores I’m used to) but post Harry Potter and Rowling’s life in Porto being publicized it’s sadly too much of a tourist trap at least in summer. Still worth seeing once tho

@amramleifer I mean there is a real PR hit Israel has taken especially among western youth. If Iran actually becomes a rump regime in its last stages/Hezbollah crippled still worth it. Voter care over foreign policy esp in the US has limits but it’s something Israel seems to see as a concern

@VoxxBelator @ianrich15813274 Remember how critical the BBC and its propaganda was in advancing Khomeini in the first place. They fear a free Iran because they very much know it will remember what they and France did to them. And ofc that certain demographics in their own country are pro regime

I think most Brits had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Americans. We admired their ambition, their music & film, their openess. We were less keen on their boasting, their global ignorance, their guns, their sense of superiority. Under Trump, most of that love has now gone.

"Chad I have problems with women, where do I start?" Right. Let's go down the full list. 1. Do you know what you want from a woman? Like, are you aiming for marriage, aiming for not marriage, whatever. You need to decide, indecisiveness is bad. You don't have to tell chicks off the bat that you want to get married, you can be mysterious if you want, but you have to at least privately know. And this doesn't just apply to the long-term. You need to know if you want to take a girl for coffee vs drinks, minigolf or a movie. Have preferences, being flexible is good, but you shouldn't be outsourcing your wants to her, she should veto or accept your plans. You aren't a corpse, she wants a person. Your job is providing "yes no" questions for her to answer, no soliciting a plan. 2. You need to not watch porn, consume marijuana, or participate in sports gambling. I'm not telling you to be a good boy, I'm saying that these are destructive behaviors that are holding you back overall. That women almost uniformly hate them is almost irrelevant. Videogames can be fine, even if most women also kinda wish you wouldn't play them. If you can have a functional life while videogaming and you don't have the other problems, women can take the L, it's not going to be decisive. 3. You need to ignore all voices of pessimism. Negativity gets clicks, so people tell negative stories. Undoubtedly there are horrible women, undoubtedly there are bad relationships. This is not standard or inevitable. Women, on the whole, are fine. They want connection every bit as much as you do, they're every bit as decent and indecent as you are. They're not against sex, and using it only as a tool of manipulation, nor are they thirsting for a 7 foot tall billionaire. They know such a man doesn't exist, and you inflating their standards serves only as an excuse for not trying. You must accept that you are currently, or are capable of being, their goal guy. 4. You need men. You need guy friends; you can't be a shut-in and expect to get a girl. You need other social outlets. And you need people who draw out different parts of you. Who you are at any given moment changes based on environment, and who you are around your parents isn't who you are around your friends. This isn't duplicity unless you're changing your beliefs for company. You need to meet the other versions of yourself. 5. You need a quest. If you're a Christian, which I don't assume, your quest is Heaven. If you're not, you need some other thing that propels action. I discourage it, but it can be money or sex, those are possible quests and some chicks are enthusiastic about it. It can be art, it can be science, there are lots of options. If you haven't got a quest, then you're asking a chick to be the quest, and strange as it may sound she doesn't want that. She wants to accompany you, not be the destination. If these things are all in order, you won't struggle for long. You'll still struggle because life is hard, and sometimes women are random. I've got galpals who'll turn down guys because they feel unworthy of attention that day. It's not necessarily about your appeal. You must accept that it's not a predictable process. The difference is that without these, you're culpable for your Ls. If you're short and a woman is into height, that's on her. If a woman isn't interested because you're a degenerate gambler, that's on you. There is no key to every woman's heart, but with this you'll have a key to some of their hearts.

@simonsarris People act like they have no agency. It’s pathetic. No one’s gonna come save you or leap from your phone screen into your arms. But you probably walk past half a dozen eligible young women every day. Almost any plane you board has a cute girl sitting alone in the waiting area.

@Jason_Cooper938 @GaryWinslett @KatrinaTrinko @AviWoolf What you're describing is a failure of personal responsibility (depending on the exact thing they're blaming for--degree of personal control may vary). Just as women not being able to find a suitable partner is something that is mostly in their control. Not someone else's fault

Thanks to porn, pot, and sports gambling, there’s not a great pool to begin with if you have certain standards for a husband. Then consider the number of men happy to cohabitate with a woman for years (prime fertility years often) & only vaguely speak of marriage. Then break up. Women are far from perfect, but if you want to solve fertility crisis, it’s way more about men than “girl bosses”.
Melanie Notkin@SavvyAuntie

"Women aged 18-55 say the top reason they aren’t reaching their desired fertility is inability to find a spouse" Been saying this for over 15 years. In fact, I wrote a book about it. (OTHERHOOD, 2014)

@CristianoR93953 Not saying Arabs don't have faults but invading those countries? really? In that era invasion was the way of the world. Criticizing certain leaders or events is fine but pulling out morality when most any people with a history of power have invasions to their name is wrong
