Polymarket has removed the 500ms taker delay (time before your order executes) on the crypto markets without warning. This has (understandably imo) angered some users who relied on this delay to market make.

A female TTC employee was violently attacked and stabbed multiple times today around 1pm at Dundas station. @MayorOliviaChow has ignored residents complaints for years about the violent mentally ill people causing chaos on the transit system.
TTC Media Relations 📰🚌🚋🚈@TTCNewsroom

Statement from #TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali: "We are deeply disturbed by the violent attack on one of our employees at Dundas Station today. This is an unacceptable act against someone dedicated to serving our customers and our city. I would like to thank the @TorontoPolice for swiftly apprehending the suspect. Our thoughts are with our employee and their loved ones, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery. Safety is our top priority. On the very day we announced that Toronto Police would begin patrols on the subway system, we are working closely with them to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents. Violence has no place on the TTC."

“No one wants to live in a place where they perceive the rights of those breaking the law to take precedence over those who have chosen to abide by them.” Cities are built on a delicate social contract — one that can fray, or even break, if we don’t manage it with care. Urban life asks more of us than life in any other setting. It demands proximity, tolerance, generosity, patience, and the ability to navigate shared spaces where our lives touch those of strangers every single day. When this works, cities unlock extraordinary collective good. When it doesn’t, decent people will flee. Cities are where we show the very best of who we are. We care for the vulnerable, newcomers build new futures, it is where innovation takes root, and where sustainable living has its greatest potential. But without order those possibilities collapse. A city that cannot manage public spaces cannot fulfil the promise of the city. Urban residents already carry a series of burdens. We live with noise. We live with regional congestion even when we ourselves walk, cycle, or take transit. We accept higher costs of living, and we receive the lowest per-capita federal investment in infrastructure compared with smaller jurisdictions - by a long shot. Urbanites already make trade-offs, willingly, because the benefits outweigh the costs. But that only holds if the social contract is upheld. Public space must work for everyone. Compassion and order are not opposites; they are twin pillars of a functioning city. If we fail to hold them together, we risk losing the very thing that makes urban life possible: the belief that our shared spaces belong equally to all of us. Cities flourish when rights are balanced with responsibilities, when generosity is paired with good governance, and when compassion never comes at the cost of public order. Everyone who sets up a tent in a park is offered shelter - 3x - before they are removed. We can be compassionate, and we can protect the broader social interest. This is good governance - and foundational to the social contract of cities. Without it, our cities will fall apart. This is an important article, @globeandmail should consider removing the paywall in the spirit of broadening the discussion about the future of our cities. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

@_sheyworth @MayorOliviaChow Right but your definition of “misbehaving” is not abiding by arbitrarily set speed limits? If the government has a spending problem I don’t think the correct solution is increased intrusion in our lives in the name of increasing revenue.

@MayorOliviaChow While we need to punish speeders, tying the funds from poor human behaviour, to "necessity good" things is very much not healthy budget decision making.

The cameras helped pay for over 900 crossing guards and 18 police officers. Frontline workers who make roads safer, paid for by speeders. The province should cover the cost to keep these workers on our streets.

#LATEST: Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow says close to 1,000 people could lose their jobs unless the province steps up to cover the revenue lost from the speed camera ban. toronto.citynews.ca/2025/11/13/ont…

@DrJStrategy A falling SOFR in this context isn't a sign of health. It's a symptom of a system struggling for air.

SOFR dropping like a stone. A dramatic decline in SOFR means that borrowing money overnight in US markets just got cheaper, which signals easier or more accommodative monetary conditions for banks and businesses.

@DrJStrategy Have you investigated the link between SOFR and the FF rate? They’re directly linked. The FF rate is going down. SOFR is not dropping like a stone.

@Prominent_Bryan Canada is over, dude. And it’s cuz of attitudes like yours. “Govern me harder Daddy”. Meanwhile the social welfare system built out over 100+ years I’m talking about the wonderful healthcare system, education system and the great infrastructure that Canada once had is crumbling

I’m going to use Congressional authority and every influence with big tech platforms to mandate immediate ban for life of every post or commenter that belittled the assassination of Charlie Kirk. If they ran their mouth with their smartass hatred celebrating the heinous murder of that beautiful young man who dedicated his whole life to delivering respectful conservative truth into the hearts of liberal enclave universities, armed only with a Bible and a microphone and a Constitution… those profiles must come down. So, I’m going to lean forward in this fight, demanding that big tech have zero tolerance for violent political hate content, the user to be banned from ALL PLATFORMS FOREVER. I’m also going after their business licenses and permitting, their businesses will be blacklisted aggressively, they should be kicked from every school, and their drivers licenses should be revoked. I’m basically going to cancel with extreme prejudice these evil, sick animals who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination. I’m starting that today. That is all.

The US abandoning the 2% inflation target for reals now seems like a bad move. If you have no inflation target we can do QE infinity. Occupy Wall Street was just 15 years early.
