I was walking from my car to the front doors of the grocery store. A young mother was on her way to her car, with her daughter in the shopping cart, age 3 ish. The little girl takes one look at me as we pass each other, turns to her mom, and not trying to be quiet at all says, "Mommy, I don't like him." Mom is very embarrassed and apologizing. I'm laughing, because it's hilarious. I told her not to worry about it. It's okay. Clearly her daughter is not a fan. I know exactly where I stand with her, and that's okay. One of the things I love about small children is that they are brutally honest. And this little girl let me know, in no uncertain terms, what she thought of me.

Me: on a train in Japan. everything silent, peaceful, orderly, then suddenly a tiny elementary school kid walks up to me. Kid: Hello. Me: ...hello. Kid pulls notebook from backpack with terrifying professionalism. Kid: Can I practice English. Me: Of course. entire train subtly listening now. Kid: What is your favorite food. Me: Lasagna. Kid writes it down with deep academic focus. Kid: What animal are you afraid of. Me: Geese. Kid pauses, looks up slowly. Kid: Why. Me: They have hatred in their hearts. Kid nods thoughtfully and writes THAT down too. then his little sister joins in. Sister: Do you have girlfriend. entire train suddenly feels spiritually louder. Me: ...no. Sister: Why. Me: That's a crazy follow-up question. Kid trying not to laugh. their mom apologizing repeatedly while the children conduct emotional interrogation. finally train reaches their stop. Kid bows seriously and says: Thank you for teaching me about geese. then the whole family leaves. old businessman beside me quietly says: He asked better questions than most adults. Facts. Okay, I’ll just say it. I’ve seen enough videos of the faces of liberal white women in conflict with @ICE, to know what is up. Liberal men at this point (sorry) are disproportionately estrogenized, physically passive, submissive due to woke gender hectoring, or porn-addicted. White liberal women are disproportionately sexually frustrated. Policing others as in the pandemic was an outlet for them, but it was not nearly enough. The smiles you see on their faces now say it all: white women long for all out combat with ICE - who tend to be strong, physically confident, masculine men - because the conflict is a form of physical release for them. They long for actual kinetic battle and it will get even uglier.
