@JoePostingg And he lost by 3.5. Had it been like just a D +2 year he may have held on.

@dumboman69 @ettingermentum 2024 campaign was a decent one. Not extraordinary but pretty good. People really underestimate how much inflation has angered the voters.

If AOC doesn’t run it will be tough to take her down. None of the options from the so-called centrist faction have been able to dent her standing with the party’s moderate base and she has scary strong support with young voters.

@james19872002 @MassJumbo This is Maine. You don't need to win over Trump voters. You just have to stop Harris voters from voting for Collins.

@MassJumbo I agree but it is worth noting that he did best in the exact areas where Democrats have lost the most ground (e.g. Northern Maine.) Shah/Bellows mostly won loyal Dem constituencies that would line up behind Jackson

My main concern with Jackson is that his gubernatorial campaign was pretty lackluster and although he technically came in 3rd he would’ve got curb stomped by Pingree, Shah, AND Bellows in a hypothetical final round

@TomysMidwood @JeremiahDJohns Yeah good luck. But that's the constitutional framework you live in. There are many parts of the constitution which many libs/lefties don't like also.

@BGGOOOOOD @JeremiahDJohns just amend the constitution with tens of millions of foreigners carrying paperwork citizenship and voting rights. OK, no problem.

@TomysMidwood @JeremiahDJohns Then amend the constitution. Untill you do that, that child will be American. Something can't be unconstitutional just because you feel it is wrong.

@JeremiahDJohns you’re and American as long as your mother climbs over a fence five minutes before she shits you out “something I don’t like” seems like a mild way to describe this

Insane that Modern Family was on for over a decade, was so huge at its time, and had zero cultural impact. No quotes-turned-shorthand, no staying power

@LinkofSunshine Murskowski, McConell and Collins (at least till the election) were never gonna vote for it. Trump personally antagonised Tillis, Cassidy and Cornyn. These are 6 flat out Nos. There must be more but these ones will be out in open. No way they could actaully do it.

@davidslosttt @ElectIndex How many seats do they need to win in each house respectively this cycle? Here’s hoping they get the seats to not have any procedural plausibly deniability against redistricting. We need to draw the GOP out of Colorado

According for my forecast at @ElectIndex, the CO Dems are on track to win a legislative supermajority If they win a supermajority, then they can still redistrict, but if they don't the effort is dead

@flaminhottweets @DrewSav I don't think Shapiro can win the presidential primary. Unless he retires from politics he should be able to beat McCormick even in a Dem midterm.

@DrewSav McCormick is gonna be really tough to beat in 2030. Guy is inseparable from Trump politically but clearly is trying quite hard to create a reputation as a bipartisan moderate (and imo succeeding)

Fascinating how much better McCormick is at doing the basics than Fetterman. This is very standard stuff every Senator should be doing!
Senator Dave McCormick@SenMcCormickPA

Great to welcome my fellow Senator and friend @SenatorWarnock to Philadelphia on America's 250th birthday and accept his invitation to hear him preach @EnonTab Baptist Church. Despite how often we disagree on policies, we strive to find common ground, and I deeply respect his faith and ability to use his words and knowledge to inspire.

@yeselson @SeanTrende Eh. The court loves its history and tradition. If you consider the Fed as basically a child of the Bank of the U.S., then it has a H&T different than the alphabet agencies.

Slaughter/Cook both JGR cases. Can't wait to see how the "independent agency appointments are at the president's discretion except for the Fed, which is different because reasons." Interestingly the "Fed Exception" is only 5-4.

FWIW - I fully agree with ACB. There's nothing in the Constitution that directly prohibits states from accepting ballots that are postmarked by election day. Elections are run by the states per the Constitution. If you want to end ihis, then Congress needs to pass a law
Isaiah Walker@walkeri141

I'm stunned actually - but 5-4 decision rules that federal law doesn't prevent states from counting mail ballots which are postmarked by election day but received afterwards. That's tough for bitmoji guy, who promised this was the case that cements an eternal GOP majority lol

@_esk_kse_ @LinkofSunshine @inquisitius If EU lets UK back in, they will need some concesssions. At least some of the carve outs (if not all) will have to go. UK won't agree to that. EU can't set a precedent of countries just leaving and coming back in.

Brexit was 10 years ago. In hindsight, all economists were right, and we will look upon Brexit as one of the worst policies passed in my lifetime. The average British person is almost certainly significantly poorer, unhappier, and less protected now.
