I still can't believe they actually did this. Like this franchise took itself dead serious back in the day lol Aaahh everything about this expansion minus the gameplay will crack me up until the end of the time. What a post-BL D2 way to go out

Marathon's first season wraps up on June 2. As we begin to prepare for Season 2, we're going to reveal more about NIGHTFALL this week, including details about Night Marsh, the new Runner shell Sentinel, the Cradle, and progression improvements.

@MoMohler @dunce_scotus_ All of those places have houses made out of paper with air con. We have houses build for winter with no aircon.

@JakeParkerLIVE There’s a reason why publishers take the 30% hit and that’s because it’s massively beneficial to sell through steam not to mention the logistics of building and maintaining their own launcher too. Steam doesn’t just work as a hosting service but also an advertisement service too

If & when Destiny 3 is green-lit, get the PC build off Steam entirely & consider a standalone launcher. A game like Destiny that moves millions to ‘tens’ of millions of dollars at a time losing 30% of its top-end is disastrous for the financial overhead it would cost to sustain the game; we’re talking full years of developer salaries lost instantly time after time with no end. With PC now mimicking console player counts & only growing, a standalone launcher would absolve the publishing fee of external platforms while also allowing the migration of Destiny 2 & (god-willing) a D1 PC port - all merged into 1 direct launcher for PC players to pull from. It’s a win-win for all.

@BRGSHQ @PaulTassi The flying is cool, but the whole melee to blind enemies is basically useless, you can't really build into it like other exotics

I did think maintenance mode would be a little more than was announced. Like I thought these past few months were effectively maintenance mode, but it’s just like literally leaving the servers on it seems

I'm really sad events won't be made automatic tbh. Despite all the damage it did I think the year of EoF made events very fun (outside of The Dawning, which it kinda stabbed in the foot, but we can forgive that) Just another think to add onto the 2035 private server wishlist ig

@BRGSHQ @PaulTassi It’s probably not even content complete so people would just call it trash if they released it. Imagine Edge of Fate but you don’t even get the last couple campaign missions.

@GenericGamer283 @PaulTassi I’ll be honest bro I’ve never had more fun than my jetpack titan antics. Watching my hunter friends struggle on the jumping puzzles while I’m cruising through the air is hilarious

@BRGSHQ @PaulTassi That's what I don't get, even if it wasn't everything, just seems like a waste. I'm hoping any exotic armor tied to it squeezes it's way into the June update, the last one for Titans was NOT it (unless the update it 🙏)

@LookAtMyMeat1 They didn’t. Those files aren’t compatible with the current version of the Tiger engine. They still have them but a lot of work would have to be done to get them working again

@SkyAsassino They were actively developing it up until last Thursday too. I don’t get why they wouldn’t just pay for the next month of dev time and recoup some money back with the expansion????

@eternalcrim Destiny 2 still makes more money for Bungie than marathon on consoles. It did better for revenue than than marathon last week on steam too. I don’t get what they’re plan is

It’s baffling that people think Marathon should die because it “killed” D2 but then want D3 to happen. Think for a second, D2 isn’t making a profit anymore, the only other IP generating money is Marathon. For D3 to happen, Marathon succeeding would help push for a green light.

@alabaymanuel @Pirat_Nation Considering destiny hasn’t had an update in 4 months and is doing better money and player numbers wise tells me marathon won’t ever deliver.

@Pirat_Nation Classic live service trap, milk one franchise dry chasing infinite growth, then wonder why the golden goose died. Marathon better deliver, or this becomes a cautionary tale.

According to reports from Jason Schreier, Bungie did not begin work on Destiny 3 immediately after The Final Shape launched because of the “enormous financial costs” associated with developing and supporting another full sequel. Bungie recently confirmed that it is ending active live-service development on Destiny 2 after one final major content update arrives on June 9, 2026. The game “will remain online and playable,” but the regular cycle of new seasons and expansions is coming to an end. “Destiny 3 is not in active production at this time.” Some staff members are reportedly shifting to other projects, including Marathon, while others are pitching new ideas, some of which could still be set in the Destiny universe. The studio is also reportedly preparing for “significant layoffs” as part of the transition.

@CoolRunnerCraig @Aabney Shadowkeep didnt sell the best. Thats when the game became f2p so a lot of those players weren’t paying customers. F2P players dwindled though because the game is more free to try than free to play

I’m confused why everyone is shocked that Sony decided to ice Destiny? there was zero indication they ever wanted Destiny 3. we know D2 is crazy expensive to operate, and had lost most of its players by 2020. it sucks that layoffs are coming, hopefully some can transfer to other parts of Sony. but Bungie isn’t dying. they will get lean and focus on Marathon for 2026 and 2027. I keep saying this, but PS6 is around the corner, and will be a great chance for Bungie to evolve again.
