Put yourself in this customer's shoes:
Paid $10k 5+ years ago for FSD, promised imminent rollout with "no regulatory blockers."
Watched US FSD beta improve massively over 5+ years while stuck on basic AP in NZ.
FSD finally launched in NZ ~Sep 2025 but HW4-only at start, your older HW3 car ineligible.
Tesla's response: vague "keep your ear to the ground" & "we haven't forgotten you" — no firm HW3 timeline
Car now >100,000 km driven, still zero FSD access despite upfront payment
English

after this, I will shut up. just please:
put yourself in the shoes of a customer that:
- bought Model S/X in 2022/2023 (~$140k for a Plaid), or even 3/Y at ~$60-75k
- paid an additional $15k for FSD (12 ½ years worth of subscription at current pricing)
- doesn't have access to latest FSD versions because HW3 (missed cutoff point by a few months)
- can't justify upgrading to HW4 because they’re deeply underwater on their current car
- see $15k FSD purchase option drop by nearly half, even though Tesla said it was only going to get more expensive
- see a great deal on a Cybertruck with "Free FSD Transfer for loyal customers!" advertised right below the Order button. press "Order."
- aren’t chronically online, so miss Tesla quietly changing the terms retroactively
- show up (or are about to show up) for delivery in June only to be told “sorry, we’re not honoring that”
- then went online to figure out what happened… and got hit with “stop wanting things for free!”
these customers exist, and will never buy another Tesla again.

While Blancpain’s more tool-oriented watches, like the Fifty Fathoms, tend to occupy the spotlight, today, we’re taking a look at something more on the classic end of the brand’s offerings with the Villeret Quantième Complet.

I'm farming $BEYOND because I want that juicy revenue earning token from @PlayGroundCorp. LFG!!!

Firstly, was there something misleading in what I said? Point it out and I'll either address your thoughts or I'll admit my fault.
Unlimited clean energy? There are no such miracles in life-- the cost to produce everything from solar panels to wind farms absolutely does cost in a variety of ways (not inclusive of dollar cost) and producing the battery packs on EVs requires a massive mining investment moving roughly half a million pounds of earth for all the materials needed.
According to Mackinac Center for Public Policy (discussing Heritage Foundation research) had this to say about producing EV battery packs:
"...carbon dioxide emitted while manufacturing a Nissan Leaf battery is 'equivalent to driving a gasoline-powered BMW 320d for 24,000 miles.'”
And just try recycling windmill blades that are made from fiberglass and epoxy. They are longer than the wings on 747 and cannot be recycled, so they end up in landfills. Even worse, they are often incinerated which creates-- well, you know what it creates.
EVs eat tires faster than most IC engines and also produce more particulate pollution than tires from gas-powered cars.
My point isn't EVs or "clean" energy = evil. My point is that the calculus of costs isn't nearly as simple as what you are painting.

How much have you spent to power your vehicle in 2024?
I’ve spent a grand total of $41 since January 1 charging my Tesla, and in doing so have contributed a total of 0 carbon into the atmosphere.
That’s right, every mile I have driven this year has a 0 carbon footprint. I’d say I do it for my kids but I really just love the car.

English

@joecrotchett @krassenstein Still got my same ones from 2019. Charge off home solar. It's really a game changer. Traded my audi sq5 which cost me $1500 / not including fuel for a model y recently. Now both cars running for free pretty much. Love the product
English

@krassenstein I just replaced the tires on my Tesla I bought in 2019. It was the first time spent money on the car since I bought it. No money spent on oil changes, gasoline (obviously), or brakes, rotors (regenerative braking). It’s crazy how inexpensive these cars are after you buy them.
English

I don’t make big purchase decisions based off of the ideologies of those running the company. I make the best decision for myself based off of what the best value is for the dollar spent.
In my opinion Tesla has the best technology and best product compared to any car company on the planet per dollar spent. Safety, environmental impact and the fact that the car improves over time is what convinced me.

@Jason @theallinpod You guys should just stay away from crypto, you didn't know enough about it to provide any incite.
English

This micro-controversy was basically my fault… as the world greatest moderator I prodded my besties on if they were holding or selling their solana tokens… since thats super interesting and why folks tune into @theallinpod —
then a bunch of mid lunatics lost their minds, the token spiked dropped and is now spiked again 😂😂😂😂
Chamath Palihapitiya@chamath
We were joking around on the pod a while back and it tilted some folks. Maybe they should have channeled their selective outrage into a buy order on Coinbase instead of being a keyboard warrior.
English

@JetMahler @Keyser1617 @JeppaDT Yeah poor take. SA can have gather round. Give west aus teams a fair crack at the very least given the distance they travel week in week out. Don't take a home game away.
English

@Keyser1617 @JeppaDT So your saying gather round should only ever be in WA? Everyone except crows and Port have to travel for it. Who cares
English

Many of you ask how I moderate the All In pod in terms of passing the ball to exactly where each bestie is likely to score... it's fairly simple.
This isn't written in stone but as a rule:
1. I go to Sacks first on politics and have him do clean-up on science.
2. I go to Friedberg first on science and have him do clean-up on politics
3. I go to Chamath first on markets and second on politics and science.
Everyone gets the first shot at the topic they are most passionate about, and then we try to move the ball around if the topic is interesting.
If the topic isn't that rich we move on to the next one as quick as we can (not easy with four super opinionated folks!)

@SampleGates @zed_run Did you sell your horses? I'm not playing anymore but the thought listing all my horses is too hard.
English

Well it is official, for the first (and maybe only) time, we have sold all ETH from our Zed wallet.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of our journey, it was a helluva 2 year run. Thanks to @zed_run for all the memories, maybe we will cross paths again some day 🫡

@ThomasAllerup @tgeorge0451 @SawyerMerritt Rich coming from a Norwegian. Oh we are so green, rich from oil and still drilling all over the globe. We just stopped you running pipes next to our second largest tropical reef. Don't care about your ev penetration, it's just green wash.

@tgeorge0451 @SawyerMerritt Sure, but ten can be reduced to one.

NEWS: Tesla is getting ready to take on Australia’s legacy utilities in what would be a landmark move for the local grid and for consumers, and potentially disruptive for the incumbent industry.
Tesla’s plans for Australia are believed to be broadly based on its model in Texas, where it has launched Tesla Electric, and which targets consumers who have either a Powerwall home battery, or a Tesla EV, or both.
