New York legislators have also considered e-bike registration rules, but the chair of that state’s Assembly transportation committee said they won’t happen this year. And city hospitals have seen a spike in crashes involving e-bikes and scooters. NJ puts NY to shame leaving NY’s pedestrians, seniors and the disabled to fend for themselves against unregulated e-bikes and scooters! For three years Priscilla’s Law has been sitting in both the state and the city council languishing as the bike lobby has been stopping it from going forward with lots of campaign cash. @GovKathyHochul @BillMagnarelli @MayorKmamdani @nyc_evsa @AFineBlogger @GaleBrewerNYC @ShaunAbreu @infopobn @Shebbie4nyc @nyccommonsense apple.news/AIX6iaurYRvKeF…

The redesign has failed. And those in control were told it would! But the money behind the food delivery companies and Citibike made everyone ignore the danger. E-bikes do not belong in the park! Period. There are serious accidents every week. It really seems the city doesn’t care. It’s outrageous!!

The experiment of "safety in numbers" and "adding infrastructure" has been tried, and FAILED! Just look at Third Ave on the UES- 8' wide protected bike lane, wider on passing blocks, 3' buffer, bike-only signals, e-bike speed limit signs. Still, chaos-e bikes running reds, biking in bus lane, going wrong way, through pedestrians, etc...infrastructure isn't doing spit!

There is nothing about adding a bike lane that makes an e-biker not speed, run red lights, leave scene of crash, ride on auto-pilot.The majority voices will soon drown out the Authoritarian, wealthy @TransAlt & corrupt @ShaunAbreu ‘cause THAT is what Democracy Looks Like!💜

The government stopped monitoring this because someone / DOGE thought public health and safety was a waste of money.

@infopobn This lawsuit asks the court to (1) stop the DOT from doing its job to make the streets safer for all, including the disabled, (2) thwart the will of the community, and (3) hand each plaintiff $225,000 in the process. It seems that shame has disappeared from our society.

@nyc_evsa @ShaunAbreu @NYC_DOT @CentralParkNYC You have it exactly backwards. According to NYPD data, similar changes elsewhere in the city have made the streets SAFER for everyone, particularly the mobility impaired. So, what is your real goal? To protect parking?

I’d really like to know what your real motivations are Howard? You’re the one clearly ignoring safety. And injuries particularly traumatic brain injuries have gone up, not down. chelseanewsny.com/news/e-bike-sc… But I find you at Trans Alt don’t really care about victims of e-bike crashes. Which I find appalling. I still think about the restaurant manager at Jin Fong restaurant who was as killed by an e-bike in a bike lane as he tried to unload his fish and vegetables into his place of employment. Simply trying to do his job! The restaurant has subsequently closed never quite able to recover from the death of their friend and employee. gothamist.com/news/elderly-m…. I ask again what your motivation is Howard? It’s certainly not safety from what I can see.

@nyc_evsa @OpenPlans Ignoring safety and making personal attacks is a losing strategy. I am really curious what your real motivation is. I suspect it is free parking.

We prioritize bike lanes instead of upgrading infrastructure that hasn’t had an upgrade ever. Everything is Manhattan centric that’s why these people in Queens are living in the same conditions than when it was farmland.

@BasicallySusan @bradhoylman @infopobn @nyc_evsa @UWSParking 💯 factual NYC priced my friends in social service, public health & the arts out of the city. Now they commute from NJ — and get punished for it. Congestion tax, vanishing parking, spiteful street redesigns. The people holding this city together are being taxed out of caring!

Park Avenue just got one step closer to becoming a marquee boulevard for people, not cars. At the East Midtown Public Realm Improvement Fund Governing Group (EMGG), we voted unanimously to approve $39 million to advance the design and construction of the Park Avenue Vision Project. Below are two proposed redesigns. Let me know in the comments, which one do you prefer?

Shame on you Brad Hoylman. You are chasing the working class and the middle class from New York with your elitist biker myopia. This city is for everyone-not just your wealthy suburban tech real estate bros. So disappointed by your actions. @infopobn @nyc_evsa @UWSParking @AFineBlogger

@bradhoylman Brad — you drive a car. So why the contempt for everyone else who does too? Winter, rain, heatwaves — people need their vehicles, especially working multiple jobs. Removing lanes on Park Ave and 5th Ave doesn’t move this city forward, it stalls it.

@Cat_in_a_Bowl @westsiderag you dont spend much time in CP. back in March 2025 a redesign of lanes started. Part of the design was turning the traffic lights to flashing yellows. In any case, Cyclists have never adhered to the lights going back to the days when the park was only closed on weekends.

This is the fault of this city, the Mayor, the lobby Trans Alt who have stopped all regulation, Shaun Abreu and many others!! Shame on all of you! NYC jogger in coma after e-bike driver rams into her in Central Park -- and he isn't facing any consequences nypost.com/2026/07/16/us-…

This is embarrassing and more virtue signaling from our City Council. While a jogger lies in a coma in the hospital hit by another e-bike in Central Park you wax and wane about the poor horses. How about the THOUSANDS of injured New Yorkers for whom the City Council has done nothing! The city and state both have joined in to ignore Priscilla’s Law and let every man, woman and child fend for themselves. I call that dereliction of duty and a slap in the face to the many severely injured parties who must live with this trauma everyday. Too bad the horse carriage people don’t have a lobby like Trans Alt shilling for them. I guess there’s not enough money to be made. @nyc_evsa @infopobn @AFineBlogger @SpeakerMenin @UWSParking @ShaunAbreu
