Read viewer feedback on camera, wrap it up, go home. Jeremy Vine @theJeremyVine did exactly the same thing on Points of View. She got £440 per episode. He got £3,000. Ahmed spent years trying to fix it quietly through internal BBC processes. The BBC said there was no problem. She filed for tribunal. In January 2020, the tribunal ruled unanimously in her favour. The BBC could not explain the difference. They tried. They argued Vine needed "a glint in the eye" and to be "cheeky." The tribunal said that was not a skill. It was a story the BBC told itself. The total underpayment was close to £700,000. Sarah Montague, another BBC woman, settled separately for around £400,000. The National Union of Journalists flagged around 70 more cases waiting resolution internally. After Ahmed won, 700 BBC women received pay rises. The BBC's statement after losing? BREAKING UPDATE: Cole Tomas Allen, 31, from Torrance, CA, was identified as the shooter at the WH Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel. I’ll never understand how airlines overbook flights. You know exactly how many seats are on the plane. You literally make people choose them before paying. Then somehow there’s “no seat available” at the gate. How does that even make sense? This isn’t rocket surgery, it’s counting.

@Jade2000cute I’m 55 & I believe trans men & women have every right to exist & live in peace. I think young women have better things to worry about, such as housing costs, jobs, sex discrimination & the risk posed by c!s men who make up 50% of the population as opposed to 0.01 % trans.

It's funny how you rarely hear young women complaining about trans women online and spreading hatred - 9 times out of 10 it's the over 50s. Says a lot! (Not trying to be ageist here, just stating an observation)

Their coffee isn’t quite as good as Costa (way better than Starbucks though) but costs so much less. Macdonalds coffee used to be OK, but always tastes burnt now

@aliciaandrz I love Nora Roberts & her alter ego JD Robb. When I was working I had make sure I downloaded/bought her books on a Friday so I could read them in one sitting. But I’m like that with any book I’m enjoying, it’s a compulsion.

@AuthorGFAllen Reading helps to improve vocabulary. But I think writing is as much a talent as it is a learned ability & no amount of reading will help if the talent isn’t there. I can read 50+ books a year but would never try writing one.

But I don’t park there unless it’s late at night, it’s virtually empty & I’m just nipping to the cash machine. I’ve still had people have a go at me then.

My sister has an autistic son who has a blue badge. Yesterday some old entitled biddy, watched them get out of the car and had the cheek to tell them they can’t park there!!! Why do old people think disabled spaces are just for them??

@Casyoks @smriiis_reading They are an easy read and her standalones usually have a strong mystery/thriller element with good character building. I like that I know what I’m getting & read other writers if I’m looking for something a bit grittier.
