Isn't it interesting that when Bitcoin is critiqued on "first principles" we're told, "Oh, ignore the maxis..." but when criticized for financialization/co-option the response is "That's not what the OGs think!"

@bronsonst @UziCryptoo in location wise and financially wise. Instead, buy 3/4 of a Bitcoin with the money not used for the down payment and continue to rent… before long that house you were about to slave 30 years for, will only be a fraction of the price DENOMINATED solely in Bitcoin.

Assets appreciating denominated in what? Everything appreciates denominated in USD. Denominated in Bitcoin the price of real estate is deflationary… A $50,000+ down payment on a mortgage with “hopefully” ~6% rate it will lock you…

The average US mortgage is $250,000 at 7% over 30 years.
Total repayment? $598,000.
You borrow $250K and pay back $598K.
$348,000 straight to the bank.
For nothing.
Then you pay to fix up the house.
Stuff breaks.
You pay insurance monthly.
Property taxes every year.
3–6% in realtor fees when you sell.
And we act like renting is throwing money away.
There is a strong argument for renting.

What they don’t mention: the house is worth $1mn after 30 years.
$2k a month in rent for 30 years is $680k. No tax deductions on that. You end up owning nothing.

The Taco Bell chicken quesadilla inflation index. 2001 Chicken quesadilla: $1.89 2026 Chicken quesadilla: $6.19 This is a total inflation of ~327% or an annualized amount of just over 6%/уг. Don't let the lizard people in the government trick you into thinking inflation is 2-3% per year...plan accordingly.
