@BenjiGameDev It seems to my layman self that it should be really straightforward to port a first person development to also launch on VR. What makes this so difficult for a developer?

I can only speak from my own experience making VR games in the early days (DK2) - it's just a really difficult medium to design for. It didn't unlock any crazy new gameplay innovations like we thought it might, so it has very few positives to offset the many downsides

Worth pointing out that this is easily the most impressive space mission of the last 30+ years and the prime contractors for the rocket and crew module are Lockheed Martin and Airbus

Artemis launch footage feels like it was filmed and streamed on an ancient webcam. Rockets also look ancient. Boosters still disposable. Commentators aren’t adding context.

I have a grand VR saving plan. The grand VR saving plan is to take the VR content we have and turn it into a flat screen motion gaming system. Most of the content plays great. There are 1-2B people who haven't played any of it, because of headsets, but can play it this way.

This autistic man on YouTube created essentially the ultimate display technology until microLED has enough yield to be at consumer pricing.
It is essentially an LCD panel with a monochrome OLED panel behind it instead of a traditional backlight.
Infinite contrast, low burn in.

@BlowSlots @CryptoCyberia LCDs have two main layers, the display that shows the image & the backlight that makes it viewable in normal conditions.
Using a projector to create said backlight and masking the areas that should be dark gives it an OLED effect, while not suffering from the same burn-in issues.
