@GavanCasey @SportTG4 Hillarious enough being back here in 2026 and Ben is stopping Barry Walsh playing u20 for no reason. After the rule he despised so much was reduced to allow Walsh play both.

@Briain14 @willocallaghan Coz there will be more jeapordy and competitive games and less dead rubbers. Getting to a provincial final will be more important than ever.

@willocallaghan 2/2 that it decreases "jeapordy" are unfounded imo. If anything, it will end dead rubbers that you often see in Round 5. Binning the Head to Head rule will also help in this regard as its a misguided rule that creates dead rubbers.

The Handpass Looks Good To Me? What stands out most is the relationship between attitude, effort and performance. Limerick's approach: consistent pressure, repeat effort, forcing moments Cork's approach: composure, efficiency, and quality execution Both are high-performance traits. Both are required at the top level. But over 70 minutes, sustained effort shapes the game: It creates turnovers It increases volume It puts pressure on opposition decision making And ultimately: Effort → Opportunity → Score.

@john_mcguirk You haven't a clue, they knew if Iran had a captured soldier, domestic pressure and opposition to the war would increase. They did this to save themselves. Nothing more, nothing less

I think Aaron Gillane is the best forward I've ever seen play the game. Plays up there on his own most of the time. I've never seen a defender get the better of him and he scores from everywhere.

@Briain14 @roryisconfused "based" is a very broad term in this case. Omar was the most unrealistic character (though one of my favourites) in Season one. He added a lot, though was very far removed from any other character.

@roryisconfused Shiiiiiiieeeetttt. I think Omar was a nonsensical character designed to provide menace for the lead criminals. The police, though they always skirted the law never crossed the line when it came to endangering the lives of Avon, Stringer etc. Omar was vital for seasons 1-3

He’s a cheat code at u20 and I really can’t remember a player that good at the level - McCarthy? Mullen? Tony Kelly? Aussie Gleeson? Tipp 2010 lads? Joe Canning? Is there a definitive best player at u20 level? Not great afterwards, I mean the finished product at u20 level.

@Zonal_Marking Thanks, i missed it on my morning coffee peruse. I'll have a look. From the tweet, it looks like you sort of agree that the current system is flawed. Which was OP's point essentially. Curious to your thoughts on the group stages of the WC?

Watching B&H and Italy scrap away at each other, messy, pulsating and vital. A real football match with everything to play for. As opposed to that latest corporate event opportunity served up at Wembley

@GarethWheeler The expansion to 48 teams created i think one extra European place. Your first point is completly wrong. It was expanded to infantino would get more votes in obscure countries who typically had no hope of qualifying.

Thoughts on Italy failing to qualify: 1) 48 team World Cup was supposed to prevent this. Already too many minnows at this tournament. Even a mediocre Italy would have made it better 2) Toronto is a loser here. Italian community storyline, gone. Significant economic impact. 1/2

✍️ Dear @collision, @patrickc, As a hugely successful Irish owned company, @Stripe makes everyone in Ireland proud 🇮🇪. I understand as a dual headquartered company, in Dublin and San Francisco, you must follow sanctions imposed by #Trump in the US 🇺🇸. However would you be able to facilitate basic personal payment functionality on Stripe for @FranceskAlbs outside the US? She is simply doing her job, standing for international humanitarian law and the @UN Charter. Thank you. "Not only has the U.S. blocked them from their property, but banks have frozen Albanese’s accounts. Transactions involving her are stopped because intermediaries, such as Stripe, are American. Her health insurance has halted payments. Hotels have canceled bookings in her name." - Today in @politico by @KarlMathiesen

Why are the Collison brothers writing government housing policy? Their think tank projects wants there to be 350,000 housing units in people's back gardens. A generation condemned to inadequate housing so landlords can increase profit. breakingnews.ie/ireland/homeow…

The article concludes with this I’ve read it for you don’t waste your time! ‘However, definitive evidence that vaping causes oral and lung cancer is still lacking - given that it is a fairly new technology and there is currently not enough studies focusing on people who have only vaped to make a quantitative assessment.’

@bazlastmanback Well it was a meaningless game. They were knocked out of the competition already. Southgate made 8 changes to the team. All of this is far more relevant. There's really not enough data that they are suddenly better at it.

@Briain14 Yea just discount a penalty shootout to try manipulate your point. The point is it has obviously made them better at them. The stats prove it.

Penos aren’t a lottery. You can make marginal gains if you put the work in. England’s record was awful before Southgate’s all-encompassing approach to shootouts. From the psychology(your own keeper handing you the ball), to taking your time after the whistle,it all matters.
