This is a great “current event” for teachers to use to teach students about socialism. Maybe they’d be less inclined to think it’s better than capitalism.

🚨 MASSIVE WIN: Supreme Court just ruled 6-3 that drawing Congressional districts solely based on race is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Republicans could flip a dozen Democrats seats in the South alone ahead of the midterms.

Japan’s war crimes … why did everyone forget? The Japanese in WWII were every bit as horrific as Nazis, yet Hirohito ended up visiting Disneyland before he died. How did Japan escape world blame?

No one’s fought harder than me against Biden’s Automobile Kill-Switch. I’ve railed on it in Transportation Committee and Rules Committee hearings. I’ve even forced two recorded votes in the House to repeal it. Here’s just a small sample of those debates: youtu.be/tP9mVm9N-EE

@DefiantLs "Why did everyone forget?" Probably because the U.S. napalmed Tokyo and dropped an atomic bomb on 2 of their cities. Not sure how much more we should have punished Japan.

@CMPiagentini Metro Government should stop funding affordable housing and build a juvenile detention center. A few months, a few years in a building surrounded by barbwire will teach these kids to behave.

Automobile kill-switches are coming soon to car dealerships near you. I teamed up w/ Scott Perry & Chip Roy to defund this Orwellian mandate, but too many colleagues (Republican & Democrat) voted against us, so the federal mandate for every new car after 2026 is still in place.
Thomas Massie@RepThomasMassie

Federal law says new cars after 2026 must monitor drivers and shut down if the car disapproves. Your dashboard should not be judge, jury, and executioner. @RepScottPerry @RepChipRoy offered an amendment to defund the automobile kill switch mandate. Here’s our debate:

@joelpollak Wasn't Israel already the superpower in the Middle East? Every time they have been attacked since 1948, they have repelled the attacker/s.

This weekend, a meeting of Illinois' African Descent-Citizens Reparations Commission (ADRC) featured a presentation from Chicago pastor Jonathan Brooks, aka "Pastah J," where he calls reparations "soul work" to redistribute wealth AND intangible feelings like "dignity." "We will be told to study a little bit more, to wait just a little bit longer, to move cautiously before we make decisions. But let's be honest, delay has always been the language of denial. Justice delayed is not neutral. It compounds the harm. Every year without repair is another year where the wealth gap widens. Another year where opportunity is denied. Another year where the consequences of past injustice are only carried into the future. There comes a time when the only faithful response is not more conversation, but as our commission has showed us, it's action." "Reparations are not about dividing people. They're about making reconciliation actually possible. They're about creating the conditions where trust can be rebuilt, where dignity can be affirmed, and where communities can begin to heal. But everybody, let me help you understand that this is not just policy work. This is soul work. See, this moment is bigger than policy. It's about identity. Who are we as a state? What do we do when the truth is undeniable? Because future generations won't ask whether we had enough data. They will ask whether we had enough courage." "The prophet did not ask for permission to speak truth. So, let me declare it the way that they did in prophetic times. Let me declare this plainly. If harm is done, it must be repaired. If wealth was stolen, it must be restored. If dignity was denied, it must be affirmed in tangible ways. This is not radical. This is not ridiculous. This is righteous. Reparations are not rewriting the past. They are about refusing to let injustice have the final word. Do you believe? Do you believe? Do you believe? Then let justice roll down like a mighty river. Not just in rhetoric, but in repair."
