BMC needs to take this seriously. This building has many cloud kitchens operating inside with ZERO FIRE SAFETY. Completely congested, very dangerous. To add, Andheri needs a dedicated fire station to be able to tackle this promptly. The market needs to upgrade its fire safety measures and audits. 🧯 🧯 🧯

Almost 4 days for this pile at St.Domimic Rd, Bandra West. @mybmcWardHW You have a 2 school's, one college, one auditorium, a 9 meter road, bikers from no entry and one unlicensed eatery. Imagine the inconvenience for all, especially the no-entry bikers and unlicensed eatery

Hello My BMC Can a humans health be determined with only visual inspection by Doctor? Without any machines? No, nah. So why does BMC rely only on visual checks for tree health? Why doesn't BMC buy simple Tree Radar / MRI to check the internal health of the trunk & roots?

Hello My BMC Do you really want to know why trees fall in Mumbai? 1- Excessive Trimming That weakens trees Year after year 2- Bottom trimming That makes tree taller & top heavy And ready to fall 3- Sucking away ground water for basement construction Drying away the tree roots

We had been saying for sometime. This was the plan all along! Slowly kill BEST from within and then monetize BEST depots. The reason why buses were reduced, wet lease was encouraged, private bus operators were given preference is because the aim was always to unlock the BEST depots, prime property across Mumbai. We have already seen what happens when you give away BEST depot land in places like Mahim - the number of bus services are no longer as they used to be in the area, many bus routes have changed. They want to do this now across the city! This is just murder of BEST!

The sheer no of trees being uprooted this year during the onset of rains points to poor trimming, excessive concretisation impeding root systems and non-native tree species without adequate roots to withstand weather conditions. The ‘end-of-life’ event for trees being uprooted during rains is bogus. The extent of the brainwashing, to somehow deflect attention from the BJP is mind boggling. #Mumbai #BMC

A familiar dance of death has begun in Mumbai! Somebody does, contractors are blamed, @mybmc officials pull out convenient show cause notices to wash their hands off on issues of manhole covers (2018 judgement), Chembur tree, potholes, whatever. Does their job stop with notices? Today there is plenty of social media evidence that @mybmc is fully aware. @AshwiniBhide is not new to the organisation. When will we demand accountability? Instead the March of relentless reclamation ans expansion continues without a pause as though these deaths, encroached pavements, frighteningly bad roads are in another country!!

It has been TWO WEEKS now. We are once again reminding @mybmc and @AshwiniBhide that almost all tree islands on Shri Hari Mandir Marg have been concretised by the road contractor. 🔴 These are some really big and old tree, all accidents will be the responsibility of the BMC. They are made aware of it well in advance. 📍 Shri Hari Mandir Marg, from Goregaon Traffic Police station to MG Road, Goregaon west. #MNCDFflyingSquad

Don't listen to the fake sympathy that Mumbai's politicians are showing over the deaths linked to the monsoon. See what they are doing. The latest: Grab of Football Ground in Bandra. To replace it with a concrete structure. When you view a city for plunder, this is what happens

Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide on Thursday said BMC will file a police complaint against the contractor responsible for the drain maintenance work at Saki Naka, where a 60-year-old man died after falling into an open manhole. She said preliminary findings and CCTV footage pointed to serious lapses in mandatory safety measures at the work site. After reviewing CCTV footage, the commissioner said these precautions were absent.

On this newly concretised road in Goregaon, Mumbai. Tree roots outside an under construction building were completed concretised and choked. Months now but @mybmc has allowed choking of these trees. Is it to benefit private builders in the name of view, @mybmcInfra? #MNCDFflyingSquad 📍 Shri Hari Mandir Marg, Goregaon west

Update on death of a man in Mumbai's Sakinaka area after falling into an open manhole on Khairani Road: BMC commissioner has suspended four officials pending inquiry: assistant commissioner L ward Dhanaji Herlekar, assistant/sub-engineer Deepak Chougule, junior engineer Abhijeet Chougule, and assistant engineer (sewerage operations) Uttam Patil. A high level committee headed by additional commissioner (western suburbs), with deputy commissioners of general admin, zone 7 and infrastructure as members, has been formed to investigate and submit a report within seven days. BMC commissioner has also instructed to blacklist the contractor responsible for this, and ordered barricading on all sides whenever such work is ongoing. All manholes across the city to be inspected within 8 days. BMC said the victim, Aslam Shaikh (55), was passing by while the work was ongoing, lost his balance and fell in, which led to his death. Mayor Ritu Tawde has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the deceased's family.
