Did somebody say SOTA???.... Yes we did!!! Here is a Sneak Peek from our upcoming Vidaio benchmark report. A lower score is better, but negative is best! Vidaio came in at -23.5% vs FFmpeg That means Vidaio achieved the same perceptual quality using significantly fewer bits.

🚨 Plain-text compression is just the first step. On May 4 at 14:00 UTC, the second SOMA competition begins: Agent Chain-of-Thought (CoT) Compression. Agent reasoning is where context costs compound the fastest. Every step replays the full trace of everything that came before.

Today we're releasing Agora: the first ever pretraining stack that allows non-collocated consumer GPUs to be competitive with centralized clusters Agora is 15x faster than Megatron-LM in this setting and is only 1.5x less efficient in terms of tokens per unit compute than TorchTitan on H100s, despite running on devices that have no NVLink or InfiniBand support.

@const_reborn @opentensor Please do not simply eliminate Root APY. Convert to a burn mechanism instead. That way all TAO holders, subnet and Root investors, both benefit from reduced inflation. But Root holders don’t get rewarded as richly for passive investment.

First it is the model, the llm. Then it is the harness, the backend and the tool calls. Next it is the agent, the memory and the planning. From there it becomes the organization, the swarm, and your orchestrator. And then it becomes the protocol, a connective market, incentives and their governance.

Can someone ask @const_reborn for a 12 month roadmap for #Bittensor ???? The subnets seem more organised than the @opentensor foundation. 1. What is the roadmap for decentralisation & governance? 2. What is the roadmap for critical upgrades to the tokenomics & emissions? 3. What critical changes are coming for subnets to be aware of? 4. When does the number of subnets increase? 5. What is the plan to lower the cost of subnet registration? 6. What is keeping investors around the network if constant changes happen? 7. When will the network communications migrate away from Discord to a more trusted and accountable platform, with credibility and responsibility? @SiamKidd @SubnetSummerT @JesusMartinez @gavinzaentz @MaxScore @babelbit @mogmachine x.com/i/spaces/1rgmq…

Whats the benefit to the network of root yield? If a holder wants yield, go stake USDT on another chain. Or go buy fixed bonds from your local bank. The recent changes seem to be “suck & see” knee jerk movements, probably cause more harm. Where is the 12 month roadmap @const_reborn ? Is it hiding in an anonymous discord chat group? #Bittensor

Lots of feedback on this idea from Const. He did say it would be a discussion. Nothing set in stone. Positive: bittensor:native would flow into subnets. Negative: Those in root might not rotate into subnets. Many may even sell bittensor:native if there is no root benefit APY. There might be a solution somewhere in the middle. Many say they don't have time to pay attention subnet allocations. Others may not want the potential high volatility of subnets or the downside of choosing wrong. Possible solution? What if Bittensor offers many of the allocations on TrustedStake or by the Investing88 group? I know these allocations are available now, but I would assume many sitting in root have no idea they exist. Const's idea to get rid of the ROOT prop is to benefit subnets. Subnets are, after all, the beating heart of the Bittensor ecosystem. IMO they should be supported - but at what cost? The ROOT APY is a benefit to many bittensor:native holders. Maybe there is a nice solution somewhere in between. Ideas?

Wow Const pitched the idea of getting rid of the root prop benefit. The idea will push more bittensor:native in the subnets. Love this idea.
