Exploring the frontiers of neurotechnology, HQ IDS (Med) hosted the conference “Brain Computer Interface (BCI): Expanding Neural Frontiers & Strategic Implications” at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt on 05 May 2026. OpNetra1.0 Eye Camp at Leh was conducted between 27-30 April 2026. Led by Brig SK Mishra and his team of Ophthalmologists from the Armed Forces Medical Services, this high-altitude mega eye camp brought cutting-edge surgical care to some of the most remote frontiers. During the eye camp 950 patients from distant border villages were screened, 214 eye surgeries (some complex) performed, and 15 individuals emerged from years of blindness to see the world anew. Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, GOC Fire & Fury Corps inaugurated Operation Netra 1.0 at Military Hospital Leh, an initiative to conduct over 200 free cataract surgeries from 26 - 30 April. In the past three months, eye camps across eight remote locations, including Tangste, Chushul, Changthang Region, Nubra Valley and Kargil, have delivered quality eye care to more than 950 individuals.
