It has 74% on Rotten Tomatoes and was treated as a lame tv miniseries by the critics - yet with hindsight the cinematography, the production design, and international cast would be the envy of any 100 million dollar movie today. It has its camp moments but you could sit your teenager down in front of this film and keep them captivated for four hours

Argentina's position on the Falkland Islands is utterly indefensible.
Argentina is effectively asking the international community to go along with the partition of the UK, against the overwhelming majority of the population living in the the territory in question, and to do so after Argentina illegally tried to seize the territory by force in living memory.
Compelling the UK to transfer sovereignty would set an absolutely terrible precedent in international relations. It would open the flood gates for all kinds of other nations to press territorial claims, no matter how old, and legitimize the use of force to seize territory.
Sorry, Argentina, it just ain't gonna happen.

Good things in Trump’s first term (which to be clear was pretty bad overall):
- Operation Warp Speed
- the appointment of Jerome Powell as head of the Federal Reserve
- 3 strong Supreme Court appointments, though all are more conservative than me they have overall been pretty good justices and he did better than the Bush I and II appointments which is kinda surprising, and though shoving Barrett through after what happened to Garland was wrong she has nonetheless been a very good justice
- arming Ukraine, unlike Obama, even if clearly not what he wanted he can take credit for that if he likes
- Abraham Accords, which included halting Israeli annexation of the West Bank in exchange for normalization with the UAE
