At Ranchi Junction, majority of vendors are not selling Rail Neer and are openly pushing local/private brand water bottles for higher profit margins. Rail Neer costs ₹14 per litre, while other brands are being sold at ₹20, forcing passengers to pay ₹6 extra unnecessarily. This is a violation of railway guidelines. Kindly take immediate action and ensure proper availability of Rail Neer at all stalls. @IRCTCofficial @RailMinIndia @RailwaySeva @serailwaykol #RailNeer

The information revealed by Anjali Bhardwaj about the Bengal elections has created an uproar in the BJP. You too will be shocked after hearing it.

Dear @odisha_police kindly take immediate cognizance of this shocking incident. A person is being brutally assaulted in a public place while bystanders watch in fear. Such brazen acts of violence openly challenge the rule of law and create panic among common citizens. If criminals can attack people publicly without fear of consequences, what message does it send to society? Is Odisha moving towards gundaraj? Requesting immediate identification and arrest of all persons involved, strict legal action, and assurance of public safety. Law and order must prevail over violence. @CMO_Odisha @homeodisha @Ganjam_Admin @sp_ganjam @India_NHRC @PMOIndia @HMOIndia

Interesting times. Citizens using RTI to question authorities are now being compared with “parasites”, while those looting public resources, burying files, violating laws and escaping accountability continue to enjoy respectability. For 13 years, I have spent my own money filing RTIs, collecting records and raising public issues before authorities and courts; without salary, power or personal gain. Maybe transparency itself has become uncomfortable. Every institution asks for accountability from others. A little introspection within institutions would also strengthen democracy and public trust.

The Supreme Court’s observation on the selection panel for Election Commissioners raises a very serious constitutional concern. If the Election Commission is expected to function independently and conduct free & fair elections, then the appointment process itself must inspire public confidence. When the third member of the selection committee is a serving Cabinet Minister, questions naturally arise about neutrality and institutional independence. The Court rightly observed that the third person in such a panel should be politically neutral. An Election Commission cannot merely be independent on paper it must also appear independent in the eyes of citizens. But the larger concern is timing. These concerns were visible long before the elections. Civil society members, constitutional experts, and many citizens had already raised objections regarding the composition of the selection panel. Yet meaningful scrutiny and strong observations are coming only after the electoral process is over. Constitutional institutions should act proactively, not reactively after public confidence has already suffered damage. Democracy does not survive only through voting machines and polling booths. It survives through trust that institutions are impartial, appointments are fair, and constitutional bodies are free from executive influence. Even a perception of bias in the appointment process of Election Commissioners can weaken that trust. The Election Commission is not an ordinary department of the government. It is the guardian of electoral democracy. Its independence is directly connected with the integrity of elections themselves. The framers of the Constitution envisioned institutions that could stand above political interests and protect constitutional morality. In a healthy democracy, the ruling party, opposition, judiciary, and citizens should all feel equally confident in the neutrality of the Election Commission. That confidence cannot come if the appointment mechanism itself appears politically tilted. Strong constitutional institutions are built not merely by judgments after the event, but by timely intervention, transparency, and safeguards before damage is done. Democracy requires vigilance at every stage especially in the appointment of those entrusted with protecting the electoral process.

RTI is not a business for many of us, it is a constitutional tool to raise public issues and seek accountability. I have spent 13 years filing thousands of RTI applications, spending my own money, collecting information and using it before courts without any personal gain. It is easy to label activists as “parasites”, but the real spirit of democracy lies in questioning power and protecting citizens’ rights. Corruption and unethical practices exist everywhere, every institution must introspect, including the judiciary. At a time when serious constitutional issues are emerging across the country, safeguarding fundamental rights should remain the highest priority.

CJI Surya Kant says there are "parasites" attacking the system. "There are youngsters like cockroaches, who don't get any employment and don't have any place in the profession. Some of them become media, some of them become social media, some of them become RTI activists, some of them become other activists, and they start attacking everyone." - CJI.

Authorities failed to submit their counter within the stipulated time, forcing another adjournment in the Rengali Right Canal pollution case. A clear example of the casual approach towards environmental issues. SWM Rules have completely failed in Talcher. Households and commercial establishments are openly discharging waste directly into the canal, severely polluting water used for irrigation. Environmental negligence cannot continue unchecked. @CMO_Odisha @OdishaWater @CPCB_OFFICIAL @ospcb123 @angul_dm @sub_talcher @jica_direct_en @jica_direct #Talcher #RengaliRightCanal

13 yaşındaki bir çocuk, iki kardeşini öldürdü. Yargıç, “Bebekleri öldürdüğü an çocukluğu bitti” diyerek, ‘100 yıl hapis cezasını’ açıklayınca…

Earlier, I had filed complaints regarding the use of non-biodegradable plastic and newspapers for food packaging. Despite clear health and environmental risks, the practice continues openly in Talcher. People are unknowingly consuming microplastics and toxic chemicals along with food, silently risking serious diseases like cancer in the future. Using newspapers and plastic for serving or packing food is a direct violation of food safety and packaging norms. Almost every food shop in Talcher is involved in this unsafe practice. I once again urge the authorities to immediately prohibit it and ensure strict enforcement of proper food packaging standards. Public health and environmental protection cannot be compromised. @CMO_Odisha @angul_dm @MTalcher @ospcb123 @HUDDeptOdisha @sub_talcher @SecyChief @fssaiindia @HFWOdisha #Talcher #FoodSafety

Sorry for the inconvenience’ isn’t accountability; it’s a script. For 5 years, passengers have faced endless delays while goods trains get priority. Time & dignity got derailed. Are passengers fool, or is the system fooling us?” @EastCoastRail @RailMinIndia @RailwaySeva #Train68422
