13,000 sq km of forest, more than the total geographical area of Delhi, Sikkim n Goa combined, is under encroachment. This is how trees are slowly killed by girdling and burning by encroachers. How can we deal this problem ?

Friends and fellow Maharashtrians - presenting our dear Forest Minister, who apparently isn't aware that traditional snake worship involves the unbelievably cruel practice of removing fangs & venom glands of cobras, forcing them to drink milk - which ultimately leads to their death by pneumonia, starvation or dehydration. Isn't it his job to, you know...PROTECT our forests and wildlife?😟

Seriously though. Who will stand with citizens? The PMC officials and bureaucrats whose salary is paid by OUR taxes? The politicians WE elect? Will they stand with us, citizens or with the builder lobby - that's the million rupee question.

@jayashreenandi Same story every where in India - Pune rivers are sewage carrying nullahs too - and now with Pune River Rejuvenation project, they will concretise its banks, butcher 11000 trees and narrowing down the banks thus multiplying flood risks exponentially

The developing world should simply reduce all tariffs on goods and services coming out of the :- USA to Zero China to Zero EU to Zero Except China on which we are all trade dependent. Nobody in the OECD is a threat to the developing world because of their price / wage disparity. Why should we lose our comparitive advantage over them fighting over markets and borders and their economic hegemony. Ideally we should sign FTA’s with all of them but I guess it’s not to be. This is a battle of egos over economic realities. & We lose focus on climate. Getting involved in a trade war which we can ill afford to fight is suicidal. Better to work to our comparative advantage. Make all USA / China / EU import tariffs Nil. India needs to lead the way.
