The NHC and others reported late.
Thankfully Bertha didnt quickly cook in the gulf and hit the panhandle as a severe TS or Cat 1 with 0 preparation or warning.
That was a 6-10% possibility.

This is why early detection of storms is so key.
Preparation saves both property and people, even in less severe storms.
Our combined AI model called this gulf system a week ago before the National Hurricane Center even mentioned it.
This way real meteorologists have more tools and data.

Like the Apalachicola River currently (flood stage 25 feet).
Animal safety and staging at rescues etc.

🌀 Odds of Gulf Tropical or Subtropical development are going up! 🌀 This is the Euro AI model for next Sunday. It was the first to pick up the signal of low pressure forming on an old front. Other models are slowly catching on. This “close to home” location is exactly where we would expect development in a strong El Niño because it is far away from the crazy Caribbean shear.
