@gcraven10 There are several shows like that. As Time Goes By, Just Good Friends, Don’t Wait Up, Ever Decreasing Circles. Nothing wrong with them, good casts, and seemingly always on the telly, but they were rather like comedy soap operas really more than true situation comedies 📺

@gcraven10 I’d (controversially?) put Men Behaving Badly in that bracket too.

A level crossing in the countryside, with railway tracks curving off to the right. Nothing particularly unusual here. Or did there used to be something more? Let's take a closer look... 1/n

@lastenglishking @SimoninSuffolk Doesn’t matter about your conscience. Just attend. You don’t have to believe. Just attend. You don’t have to like it. Just attend. Just attend. You will become part of the solution.

@SimoninSuffolk In all good conscience, I would find it difficult to attend or support the Anglican Church, but I do think medieval churches should be preserved for the sake of their history.

Photos of one of the most stunning models you’ll ever see. Old London Bridge, on display inside The Church of St Magnus the Martyr, which used to be at the entrance to the old bridge. The moved the new London Bridge several metres further up river. If you look very carefully at the model, there’s a policeman in it. He’s the guy who built the model.

Is there a general consensus among historians as to which US President would have been best at handling extraterrestrial first contact?

All are very welcome to our midweek Lenten retreat at St Andrew’s, Holborn on Wednesday 4 March (6.30–9.00 pm). A quiet evening centred on prayer and reconciliation. Come along, bring a friend, and experience God’s mercy this Lent!

In the process of revising the Deanery mailing list this morning it occurs to me that people might be more excited about church if we had a transfer window for clergy - eg X is lined up to be Dean of Norwich but only if St Albans can bring in a replacement evangelical by 7pm.

Does anyone know any decent, five week, courses that can be used in groups? And zero woke nonsense please. Quite enough of that everywhere else.

Trying to find a good bible study for a Lent Course is a complete pain. Either they're politicised and all about climate change or something equally tiresome, or it's actually a daily study, or it's too long for Lent, or it hardly touches on the Bible.

New Year’s resolution is to pray at least one daily office each day. Am using an app to help me, but any tips on how to do it well without feeling like a bit of a wally just sitting whispering it all to myself?
