Moderate Ds are not secret Cons just waiting to be freed from the suffocating shackles of the UMC, group think driven, daily precarity of our Neo-longhouse Moderate D’s genuinely want to be “good ppl” and unless/until the culture does a 180, they can’t & won’t support Rs

@kane @Cosmic_Trung a good question is whether it should be considered DEI to choose a minority or female candidate that is wholly qualified for the task, but with some determine made on the basis of their background.

Pilot Victor Glover has 3000+ hrs in 40 aircraft and 400+ carrier landings. Mission Specialist Christina Hammond has 300+ days in space as a flight engineer on the ISS. To say they are on the Artemis crew bc of “DEI” and not bc of their merit is both racist and sexist.

"If they refuse to deal, they will be killed." Muammar Gaddafi gave up his nuclear weapons program in 2003. He made a deal with the West. He complied. They killed him anyway. On camera. In a ditch. Iran watched that. North Korea watched that. Every nation on earth watched that. The Washington Post is not threatening Iran. It is reminding Iran exactly why they will never disarm.

People in the U.S.-Israel cognitive bubble have seriously underestimated how much this war has infuriated the rest of the world. Both for the war itself but because it has immediately generated an existential risk aimed at their own basic interests.

I make this exact point quite often, but there was an old Ezra Klein interview with Sam Harris about the legacy of Charles Murray in which Klein argued that we don’t need to wait for racists to literally say the words, “I am a racist. I hate Black people.” in order to conclude that they are a racist. If that standard applies to the works of Charles Murray, for crying out loud, then it obviously extends to very large portions of the mainstream left. I am asking you and Ezra Klein and everybody else to apply this exact same logic to the left, at which point you will see quite clearly that they hate white people. It explains everything that is otherwise confusing. They just simply hate white people. They hold white people to a different standard. They think of white people differently from people of all other races. They feel animosity toward white people in their very gut. They think that white people are particularly vile, vicious, and violent. Let yourself let the world make sense.

These people very obviously hate white people. So much of the world makes sense if you just allow yourself to say that out loud. I know it still sounds cringe to a lot of you, but it also just happens to be the truth.

Amazon HQ2 was one of those issues where the "smart" people ultimately weren't that smart. Race-to-the-bottom tax giveaways are bad, Amazon's numbers were inflated, NYC wasn't desperate for their business when they could just operate here anyway, like Facebook and Google.
Jeff Coltin@JCColtin

Seven years after Amazon pulled out of Queens for its HQ2, anti-Amazon organizer Zohran Mamdani is mayor and AOC is fundraising off of being right about it - since the project that went to Virginia instead has been disappointing.

It absolutely horrifies me that people are so incapable of this kind of incredibly basic creativity and decision making that they need to ask a machine to do it for them, like, my god, are you not ashamed to admit this in public???

No point having hard and fast rules about parenting before you have children. My older son (almost 6) spends an hour a day learning to draw Chinese characters on YouTube. Meanwhile if I gave my younger son (almost 4) an hour a day on YouTube he would open a portal to hell.

I just met with a friend who was all excited about socialists in power and I told him I thought the bond market would downgrade all the blue cities' debt. Making borrowing costs really high and effectively bankrupting them if they can't curb spending. He just said, “Oh, I hadn’t actually considered that.”

New: Mamdani has avoided addressing his wife's controversial social media history by insisting the first lady is "a private person" — but even some of his own allies are beginning to question that claim and believe he needs to confront the issue head on. politico.com/news/2026/03/3…

Murder declines over the past decade are not driven by reductions in crime, but by incredible improvements in trauma medicine that turn hundreds of what would have been murders 20 years ago into aggravated assaults. But most shootings are gangbanger on gangbanger and are completely irrelevant to what we’re concerned about, which is getting stabbed or punched or pushed in front of a train for no reason by one of the fewer than 10,000 violent unhoused crazies that our leaders permit to roam the city even though they have all been arrested dozens of times. New York City has gotten less safe over the past decade, and especially since bail and discovery reform. People who use statistics to try to tell you otherwise are misleading you. You can delve into the fine print to figure out how they are misleading you, or you can save time by simply assuming that statistics are misleading.
Mike Peters@Mike_Peters_LGM

NYC murders per year: 1955: 306 1965: 634 1975: 1645 1985: 1384 1995: 1177 2005: 539 2015: 352 2025: 303 NYC is safer now than it has been in many decades. Yet the average Boomer New Yorker will try to convince you that crime is worse now than it was in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

@razibkhan Dallas has a metro area of 8 million people and is a major banking and financial center and already a destination for big technology, federal government, energy, and financial institutions. Greater Austin is 1/3rd the size I guess the only thing it lacks is major universities

It's antisemitic to note that the terrorist who tried to kill a woman and her family due to extremist Jewish supremacist beliefs belongs to an FBI-designated terrorist org offshoot that calls itself the Jewish Defense League.
Rabbi Poupko@RabbiPoupko

This is what governmental anti-Semitism looks like. Mamdani had to emphasize the Jewish side of a deranged individual and portrayed the entire Jewish community a violent, a generalization he would never use against any other religious group.
