ok this 2.2% stat just sent me down a rabbit hole. a few more numbers i found: > only 0.2% of U.S. households spend over $100 a month on AI > only 1% of U.S. adults personally pay for Claude > only 4% of U.S. adults use AI chatbots almost constantly > only 6% of U.S. adults use Claude > only 4.5% have ever had an AI agent complete a task for them > only 8.3% of U.S. workers say AI lets them do work they couldn’t do before we are still absurdly early

this is the first humanoid i'm genuinely considering buying it's only $8k. and it feels like the first "cozy" robot: > friednly, cartoonish face > soft fabric body > a wheeled base instead of legs > a torso that collapses down when it's done working so it stays out of sight. every other humanoid has that uncanny quality where your lizard brain screams to keep it away from your kids heres what Weave says Isaac 1 can do: > finds and picks up dirty clothes around the house > carries loaded hampers, folds laundry, puts it away > makes beds, fixes pillows and blankets > puts kids' and pets' toys and shoes back where they belong > resets your rooms daily so you come home to a tidy space 8 hours of battery. autonomous by default. but teleoperators jump in remotely when it gets stuck to finish tasks (this is kinda creepy and my biggest concern for a household robot) i'd love to see how it handles a real messy home vs a curated demo. but they built their own actuators and safety systems from scratch in San Francisco, so the hardware is real and again, it's only $8k. for a machine that does your laundry and tidies your house. think this is the cheapest US-made humanoid?? we just crossed into affordable household robot territory. you probably won't have to do chores very soon

Apple was finally forced to raise prices on Mac, and now they're once again terrible value over an equivalent Windows PC. MacBook Neo now starts at $699 without Touch ID, which is same price as the incredible Dell XPS 13 that's far more equipped at this price. MacBook Air 13-inch now starts at $1,299, which is $150 more than the Surface Laptop 13-inch with 16GB RAM. MacBook Pro now starts at $1,999(!!) which is a whopping $400 more expensive than the new Surface Laptop 8. Insane price hikes across the board.

Controversial take: if you like GLM 5.2, you might find you're more than happy with GPT 5.4. I know this might sound weird, but as I've been doing more testing with GLM 5.2, I have found that yes, it's a very good model, but it's not the best model, and it definitely has problems with over-thinking. In a 52 test benchmark I ran with GLM 5.2, Opus 4.8, and GPT 5.5, GLM scored lower and cost more than Opus or GPT 5.5, because it overthinks. If you look at the benchmark that DeepSWE did, GLM 5.2 fell in between GPT 5.4 and Gemini 3.5 Flash. When I saw this, I thought, wait, is GPT 5.4 really that good? So I started playing around with GPT 5.4 again, and yes, it is really that good. And what I realized here is that for low and medium complexity coding tasks, GPT 5.4 is actually very good, and yes, better than GLM 5.2, and it doesn't have the overthinking issues that you will definitely run into with GLM 5.2. Now that being said, they are neck and neck, so if you want to support open source, or you have an $100k local rig, I get it, GLM 5.2 is a solid model. But if you don't have a horse in this race, and you just care about using good models. GPT 5.4 is a better model than GLM 5.2 IMO, I just think most people forgot about it.

Apple raised MacBook Pro prices by up to 15% or $300 today. The 16” MacBook Pro now starts at $3,000. A fully specced one now costs $10,150. 14” now starts at $2,000. Apple: "The rapid expansion of Al data centers has created an extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage. We’ve never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly.” Apple also raised the prices of some other products: • MacBook Neo: $699 ($100 increase) • MacBook Air: $1,299 ($200 increase) • iPad Air: $749 (+$150 increase) • iPad Pro: $1,199 ($200 increase)

This is a tiny glimpse into the future of the "permanent underclass." This term sounds like a joke until you actually break down what's happening right now. Apple just spiked consumer product prices by 10-50%+ The best products & intelligence are slowly becoming only accessible to the rich, and the "underclass" will only be able to access watered-down, sh*t variations. Tech companies are just making their best products completely out of reach for the average person (Fable 5 is another good example). This trend will only accelerate.

No new products, just higher prices. The 128GB M5 Max MacBook Pro went from $5399 to $6999 (+29% more expensive!) A customer of ours bought 42 of these just before the price increase - they saved $67,200. If you want to run local AI, you need to secure hardware ASAP. We're tracking live price changes on local.ai, so you can see what hardware is the best price / perf tradeoff, and how much you'll actually save vs cloud.
