@codebrewed Its the training. Make strong unpredictable assertions to make the process and control seem scary and authentic. I don't know that it is effective at actually preventing crime but it sells the idea that DHS is doing something.

I love how TSA rules are different at every airport and they look at you like you're a fucking idiot when you don't speak their regional dialect of security theater.

@Lenosallose @saintdutchess It IS objectively unusual and strange. Your culture is the only moderately developed one on the entire planet that does it.

@saintdutchess Ugh not this again... Yes we do it. No, it's not unusual or strange. Unless planned on beforehand, parents like to have their kids eat at home, or it's time to go home for dinner yourself. Otherwise you just sit in their room, doing whatever. 🇸🇪

@DuncanHenry78 And realistically any 'unsafe' feelings I do experience in men's toilets are purely sanitary 🤣.

Curiously my experience as a gay man: the number of times I’ve felt unsafe in men’s toilets or communal changing facilities is… none. None I can seriously remember. There have been drunken incidents but most of the time - nearly ALL the time - men *really* are not interested in other men in toilets or changing rooms. I’ve been on events where I was wearing a costume (pub hunt 🤷‍♂️) and I don’t think other men even noticed while I was using the facilities because men tend to make a point of not looking. The sentiment I agree with, but this idea that men’s spaces are some demonic hell hole isn’t true. They do smell though. 😐
Chantelle Alicia@ChantelleA33696

👇🎯 Women and girls are not responsible for men's safety. I don't care how scared a MAN is to use his own spaces. Get the FUCK out of female spaces, and stay out!!

@AsaditoRojo @FemCondition If they were guidelines purely about focused cleavage and zoomed in ass shots no one would care. Instead they are trying to limit completely mild angles that just happen to show off the well toned bodies of the worlds top athletes.

@FemCondition I have hard this in a couple tweets and I don't understand why enforcing less sexualized camera angles is somehow a bad thing. The athletes could compete comfortably in whatever clothers they want if the camera crew behaves properly.

@joquji5n324il @BenJen92536690 @Doctorthe113 @Dexerto I checked but in the last decade they've removed most of the official restrictions for most sports due to the sexism. These days it's mostly peer pressure from coaches/teammates and sponsors.

@MarinTerri99361 @glukianoff Even if this were true (it isn't) a private organization can't suddenly alter the terms of a $50k+ contract and not deliver at the end of a four year period unless they already had something written into it beforehand banning this.

A Florida university is threatening to withhold students' diplomas unless they record a 2-minute video apologizing for a silent protest they staged against ICE actions on campus. Such is life in the "Free State of Florida" .... orlandosentinel.com/2026/07/02/flo…

Networked with a time traveler the other day He had just come back from the future and knew exactly what stocks to buy I followed his trades and quickly made 3,000% in a week Amazing Then he told me to meet him in 1963 so we could day trade Xerox stock I arrived via Time Machine in 1963 at his stock broker’s office in Dallas ready to place some trades But as soon as I arrived, he placed a rifle in my hands and quickly ran away I’m currently sitting in Dallas County Jail, charged with assassinating President John F. Kennedy I’m likely going to the electric chair Lesson: Never do business with someone who can bend the space time continuum faster than you

@SkyTomatoFella @XxJeffreyxX @3YearLetterman @US_Stormwatch In the US almost everyone worth talking to has spent several summers in worse temperatures training all day for (real) football. We just go inside to cool off at the end of the day because we live in a developed country.

people are going off on her comments but i think even the harshest critics have to acknowledge how crazy it is that it’s 2026 and this is the absolute very first superhero movie starring a woman. pretend sexism isn’t a thing if you want but then why did it take so long?
