The IDF took what appears to be unprecedented action against the battalion involved in my team's assault & detention. In many ways, that's due to our position as US journalists. In too many cases involving Palestinian journalists & civilians, we've seen a lack of accountability.

#BREAKING Pakistan’s military regime carried out an artillery attack today (Sunday) on the city of Asadabad, the center of Kunar province, as a result of which one person was martyred and 15 others were injured. The head of public health in Kunar, Muzafar Mukhlis, told TOLOnews that 15 wounded individuals and one body were transferred from the scene, adding that most of the injured are women and children. #TOLOnews_English

After killing Ali Shuaib, the IDF accused him of being part of Hezbollah’s Radwan forces, releasing a photo of the Al Manar reporter in military garb. “Unfortunately there isn’t really a picture of it, it was photoshopped,” the IDF told Fox News about the source of the photo.

Israel is now openly claiming it is justified in killing journalists because the reporters may expose the positions of Israeli forces. That is a radical and stark break from the norms of warfare and truly must be stopped.

Here is from the IDF’s justification for why they killed the 3 journalists. (They don’t even bother to explain the other two.) “the terrorist Ali Shuaib worked to incite against the Defense Army forces and citizens of the State of Israel, using his platform as a means to disseminate propaganda materials for Hezbollah.” “And during Operation Roaring Lion as well, he continued his activity and reported on the locations of Defense Army forces operating in southern Lebanon.” Israel is openly admitting they killed him for reporting.

💢 BREAKING: Coordinated strikes have hit all three of Iran’s largest steel plants simultaneously – Mobarakeh, Esfahan, and Khuzestan – the backbone of the country’s non-oil economy. Together they produce roughly 70% of Iran’s steel output. Iron and steel is Iran’s second-largest export category at $6.48 billion, its primary hard-currency lifeline outside of oil. Mobarakeh makes the flat steel used in cars and pipelines. Esfahan produces structural beams and railway rails. Khuzestan supplies the raw slabs that feed factories nationwide. Steel became Iran’s top non-oil export precisely as a sanction hedge as it is cheap to produce using local ore and natural gas, and a critical source of foreign currency when oil revenues were blocked. Hitting all three at once targets critical industrial capacity and the economic architecture Iran spent decades building to survive Western pressure.
