في اليوم العالمي لمكافحة السُّل، أفكر في الأُسَر التي تُعبِّر عنها الأرقام: فكل 34 ثانية، يُصاب شخصٌ في إقليم منظمة الصحة العالمية لشرق المتوسط بمرض السل، وكل 6 دقائق نفقد حياة إنسان بسبب هذا المرض. وهناك الكثير ممن يُشَخَّصون في مرحلة متأخرة أو لا يُشَخَّصون على الإطلاق.
ولكن ثمة تقدمٍ مُحرَز: فقد شُخِّص 2.8 مليون شخص وبدأ علاجهم في الفترة من 2020 إلى 2024، وعولج أكثر من 90% منهم بنجاح. غير أن هذا التقدم هشٌّ، وبدون الاستثمار المستدام والمساءلة، يمكن أن تُهدَر المكاسب المُحققة بسرعة.
لقد حان وقت العمل. نعم، يمكننا القضاء على السل.

بخصوص المريض س.أ
بسبب كثرة التقرحات، يخضع يوميًا لعملية تنظيف في مشفى ميداني وبحسب كلام الأطباء، فإن استمرار هذه الحالة قد يعرّضه لخطر الإصابة بالسرطان.
لذلك أرجو من حضرتك، ومنWHO، أن يتم إعطاء حالته أولوية للخروج من غزة وتلقي العلاج، يوم الأحد

هناك حالات اقل منه بكثير من حيث تهديد الحياة و خطورة الاصابة و المرض تخرج للعلاج في مصر وخارج غزة
المصاب و المريض سيف متواجد منذ يومين في مستشفى ناصر في خانيونس

هذه زيارتي الثالثة إلى #سوريا بصفتي المديرة الإقليمية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية لإقليم شرق المتوسط. فهذا البلد وشعبه يحظيان بمكانة خاصة عندي، وقد أسعدني ما تحقق من تقدمٍ ملموس وجليّ منذ زيارتي الأولى، وخاصة النهج الجديد للتفكير في إعادة بناء القطاع الصحي وإعادة هيكلته على نحو يدعم تعافي القطاع ويعزّز إتاحة خدمات الرعاية الصحية العالية الجودة.
لقد استهللت زيارتي بلقاء معالي الدكتور مصعب العلي، وزير الصحة، بهدف تحقيق توافق بشأن الاستراتيجية الوطنية للصحة واتفاقية التغطية الصحية الشاملة، ولاسيما إعادة تأهيل البنى التحتية الصحية، واستئناف تقديم الخدمات الأساسية وتعزيز الحوكمة والشراكات والاستثمار في القوى العاملة الصحية بالتدريب وبناء القدرات.
وعلاوة على ذلك، فإننا تناولنا سُبل إسهام مبادراتِي الإقليمية الرئيسية في دعم الأولويات الوطنية، وخاصة توسيع نطاق الحصول المنصف على الأدوية والمنتجات الطبية المأمونة والمضمونة الجودة، وتعزيز قدرات القوى العاملة الصحية، وتسريع إجراءات الصحة العامة بشأن تعاطي مواد الإدمان عبر استجابة منسّقة وشاملة على مستوى الحكومة كاملة.

I’m very happy to be back in #Syria for my third visit as Regional Director. This is a country and a people I hold in great affection, and the progress since my first visit is clear — especially in how the health sector is being rethought and restructured to support recovery and access to quality health care. I began my visit with a meeting with H.E. Dr @Musaab_Al_Ali, Minister of Health, to align on the National Health Strategy and the UHC Compact — including rehabilitation of health infrastructure, restoring basic services, strengthening governance and partnerships, and investing in the health workforce through training and development. We also discussed how my Regional flagship initiatives can support national priorities — including expanding equitable access to quality-assured medicines and medical products, strengthening the health workforce, and accelerating public health action on substance use through a coordinated, whole-of-government response.
