@DOGE This seems misleading. Reducing admin costs is great, but you don't mention what the admin cost is for managing 4.6M cards.
The actual spending on cards is hardly interesting. Even if you negotiate a 1% cash back deal, we only saved $1 per tax payer per year.

The US government currently has ~4.6M active credit cards/accounts, which processed ~90M unique transactions for ~$40B of spend in FY24.
DOGE is working w/ the agencies to simplify the program and reduce admin costs - we will report back in 1 week.

Walgreens is telling us they had to cancel our appointments bc Kaiser is refusing to work with them.

My bf made an appointment in advance to get a covid vax today at @cvspharmacy and they just -- canceled it the morning of. Now he's frantically trying to book a new appointment at any @Walgreens anywhere within a 45 min. drive of us & appointments keep disappearing. Great system!

Unscientific chicken food preferences: watermelon, strawberries and peaches are a big hit. Mangoes and bananas are a pass. How odd. Their favorite treats are dried soldier fly worms (they are larvae, but that word makes people squeamish). Any insect that gets in the run is food.

First year property taxes are about the same as 6 months rent because the burden is so badly shared due to prop 13

WE HAVE TO BUILD MORE HOUSING.
Our state is millions of units of housing short to meet the needs of our population and we are falling further behind. Each year we are building less than half of the housing, and much less than half of the affordable housing that we need just to keep up with growth.
That has to change quickly or the rent will continue to go up and up.

Yesterday we received several reports of an interesting CEO phish.
Via WhatsApp, employees were contacted and asked to join a Zoom or Teams meeting with our CEO.
Upon joining, an AI-generated video of our CEO was shown with a realistic sounding imitation of his voice.

Remote work was a mistake. After two years of being fully remote, we're now going back to in-office.
