The same thing applies to poker players. This massively disincentivizes anyone from even stepping foot in a casino. I don’t see how Las Vegas doesn’t get completely torched. Not sure what we need to do to get this changed. If anyone gets some sort of an initiative going, I’m happy to promote it and do whatever I can to help get traction.

I’m going to double all my numbers to simulate a full year of betting Assuming my ROI stays at 1.52% My total winnings = $2,055,031.58 My total loses= $2,023,795.10 Profit = $31,256.48 For the 2025 I would pay about 24% in taxes on my total profit so $7,501.56 in taxes. Making my after tax income $23,754.92 If this bill passes and I use the same numbers in 2026 then I would only be able to claim 90% of my loses. Total loses $2,023,795.10 X .90 = $1,821,415.59 Total winnings = $2,055,031.58 Total loses = $1,821,425.59 Profit/lose = + $233,605.99 If I owe 24% in taxes on $233,605.99 I will owe $56,065.48 even though I really only made $31,256.48. That will net me -$24,809. How can I be taxed more than I profited? This bill will destroy the gambling industry.
