If you think stopping people from using AI to write essays is more important than preventing harm against neurodivergent and students who are english language learners then you've lost the plot. Once again white people would prefer to be cops than community members.

But they'll want someone who can critically analyze the output to make sure it's not just slop. In university we aren't looking for outcomes based, we are looking for the building of skills.

this whole "should a prof be allowed to ask you to come to office hours to defend your ai flagged work" debate just highlights how a sizable portion of students think their tuition pays for their diploma and not the opportunity to get an education at that institution

Academics are literally trying to change the dictionary just to prove me wrong. This guy wants to alter the standard Ancient Greek translation reference to say that κυνώπιδος means 'ashamed' rather than 'shameless.' Why? Because I insulted him and he doesn't like my politics. I've said it before, but save your old books. They are going to rewrite everything and tell you up means down.

The existence of a -ed at the end of it means nothing when it's usage is entirely as an adjective. That is how language works. English is full of this.

Well, I studied Ancient Greek in grad school and I just think Emily Wilson translating polytropos as "complicated" is neat

Actually, I studied Ancient Greek in undergrad and I can authoritatively prove that her translation of “polytropos” is not only wrong but is in fact the kind of mistranslation you make when your objective is to destroy Western Culture.
