Rodri Laporte Cucurella Cubarsi Olmo I’d say all of these guys have had a better World Cup than Lamine Yamal. And NO, that doesn’t mean he’s been poor, disappointing, etc. Nope! Casuals seem to want Spain to be like Messi’s Argentina. It’s just not. Different identity. 🇪🇸
Michael@LaLigaMichael

Commentator just said, “Spain lack the spectacular” of other semifinalists. Damn right! I LOVE how casuals hyped up a Yamal v CR7 and then Yamal v Mbappe narrative only for it to generally flop. Spain isn’t a superstar-driven team; not “carried” by anyone. Sorry. 🤷🏽‍♂️ 🇪🇸

People with albinism are not regarded as "Gods" in India nor are they seen as more attractive, despite their extremely pale skin. Most face a lot of discrimination and have trouble finding jobs and partners. What you see here is a mother's love for her baby.

I find it strange to see so many Kurdish figures paying tribute to Lindsey Graham. Calling someone a friend of the Kurds should be reserved for those who consistently stood by us - not for politicians whose support was driven by shifting strategic interests.

Asya Ramazan Antar actually joined the YPJ primarily to escape her forced marriage just 3 months after her parents married her off. She later died at the young age of 18 and was heavily sexualized by Western media. I understand that as diaspora Kurds, we tend to romanticize martyrs like her but she lived a life that none of us would want to have.

This is false. Syriac is a natural dialect of eastern Aramaic that evolved in upper Mesopotamia after the Aramaic language began breaking down just like how Latin broke down to French Italian Spanish etc. Edessa is where the Syriac script was created, not the language, which is Aramaic derived. Syriac and its dialects are still spoken in day to day life by Christians in Iraq, with its classical form being preserved by the church. Additionally, Osorene (Urhay) also known as the kingdom of Edessa (which is modern day Sanliurfa) along with the kingdom of Adiabene (Hidyab) were Christian states that spoke Syriac. They were not Arab. Having Arab monarchs does not make the state Arab, the population was still largely native.

@dunya_basol @ProfBShaffer Brenda is a stupid hack and is still doubling down on the losing Iran war, instead of admitting it as a blunder and mistake. History shows Iran is resilient despite strong Soviet support Mahabad failed, despite massive Iraqi support Arab separatism didn’t take hold.

Reports are coming on that Israeli government has suspended official procedures related to the recognition of the "Armenian genocide" following an appeal from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yesterday Azerbaijan's chief rabbi was also furious on that draft. I have written right after the proposal that resistance from Azerbaijan was expected and I am reiterating that current Israeli government has no specialist that knows Azerbaijan at all. There are excellent Israeli experts on Azerbaijan like @ProfBShaffer but I seriously think that now Netanyahu government is hijacked by incompetent "experts" that has no idea about Azerbaijan. A "Turkey expert" does not mean that he/she is also an Azerbaijan and Caucasus expert nust because he/she visited Azerbaijan a few times. Israel had a great advantage with its relations on Azerbaijan, due to Jewish Azerbaijanis and their history which I have written in the below quoted post, but Netanyahu does hire incompetent advisors on such sensitive areas and sideline the real experts.

When I used to live close to Petach Tikva in Greater Tel Aviv, an area with a large number of Azerbaijani Jews, I met many of them whenever I went to the Petach Tikva food market, the gym, cafés, and so on. Upon hearing that I am from Turkey, they always helped me. Food sellers in the marketplace gave big discounts, the gym owner gave me free taekwondo clothes along with a huge discount, and even bus drivers of Azerbaijani origin would ask me if I needed help with anything. Once, when I missed the last bus from Petach Tikva to Ganei Tikva, I started cursing and swearing in Turkish and an Azerbaijani Jew approached me out of nowhere, calmed me down, offered me money for a taxi, and invited me to his family's house for the sleepover. This is a very typical Azerbaijani attitude toward a Turkish citizen anywhere in the world, and Azerbaijani Jews in Isra are no different. Every Azerbaijani Jew I spoke with, more than a hundred at least, had been quite happy in both Soviet Azerbaijan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, had no bad memories, still visited Azerbaijan, and had a perfect dual identity, Azerbaijani and Jewish, in harmony with one another. The Sukhumi Synagogue in Abkhazia also had an Azerbaijani Jewish community, and it was no different there. Israel-Azerbaijan relations at their peak are not based only on political pragmatism but have a long history, as seen in Albert Agarunov's case. Conservative Turks view this through their own lens and criticize Azerbaijani citizens, but the PLO's support for Armenia, Azerbaijan's ultra-secular identity, and many national narratives such as that of Babak Khorramdin, which contributed to shaping Azerbaijani identity, all carry an overall anti-Arab stance.

@Ubaaqqqa @sandsintel Israel is in the end subordinate to American desires. US foreign policy has become utterly confused. One administration can completely undo everything a previous administration did in foreign policy. We cannot place our trust in their ever-changing loyalties and priorities.

@sandsintel Israel and USA is not the same, Israel is much trustable than the Americans especially America under Trump, Trump only think about money in his pocket. The highest bidder wins whatever the agenda is.

That would be our end. We have to stand neutral in this conflict - not out of love for the Islamic Republic, but because American promises are worthless. They see us as a tool for their goals, only to throw us to the wolves once our usefulness expires. I’ve spoken with influential figures across two parts of Kurdistan, and thankfully, they see the big picture. The days of Kurds being the West’s chess pieces are over. Let Trump get another bloody nose. We only fight when we are directly threatened.

@sandsintel If the kurds are smart they should give cordinates to the Israelis and keep pushing forward and teach these parsek beggar a lesson. If you idle and watch ur enemy get stronger if u fuck him when others fuck him it weakens him 2x.

The forced inclusion of Assyrians/Christians in these narratives is so tiring. We haven’t bared arms since the creation of Iraq. We’ve been kicked around and massacred multiple times even in campaigns against Kurds were always getting dragged into it like the PKK and Anfal etc. we pose absolutely no threat to anyone and the far majority of us pack their bags and leave at the sign of any threat. Yet some people on this app still try to portray us as villians in their narratives and deny our belonging to our lands. That’s why so many of them are acting like Turkish nationalists and Baathists because we’re peacefully protesting the constant demographic change in the very few villiages we have left. Please wake up and look at your real enemies who actually oppress you and hold power over you, not a disarmed minority of no more than 300k people spread across a discontinuous territory.
Mohammad Hawraman Nasser@Chinokurd

Kurdistan is finished unfortunately. The way the barzani and talabani tribe have weakened Kurdistan and allowed Kurdistan to be Arabized, it’s only a matter of time before the Kurdish region of Iraq is gone. Assyrians Turkmen and Arabs are all going to take a piece of our land and when that happens, we wonder and think as to why we continue to support these two backward tribes.

@allie__voss @MarinaMurphy93 Soccer is complex enough imo the tactical actions teams constantly drill and have to execute perfectly have become genuinely mind-boggling. No one succeeds in today's soccer game without being really smart. Unless you mean something else by "complexity".

@MarinaMurphy93 Nah, it’s mostly the complexity/intensity of the game to me. We don’t have rugby culture but I see that as a sport. Also we have baseball and I think that’s more like soccer.
