La raison pour laquelle les Etats-Unis consacrent une part plus importante de leur PIB à la santé est que cette dernière est un bien supérieur: une forme de consommation dont la part dans le budget des ménages croit plus que proportionnellement avec leur niveau de revenu. À travers l’ensemble des pays de l’OCDE, une hausse de 1% du PIB se traduit par une hausse de 1,8% des dépenses de santé. La relation log-linéaire des dépenses de santé avec le PIB par habitant est très robuste et les États-Unis sont au niveau attendu étant donné leur richesse. C’est vrai à travers tant de systèmes différents que ça n’a à l’évidence pas de rapport avec la thèse de Boris Vallaud. Ce qui ne dit rien de l’efficacité de leur système ou du nôtre par ailleurs.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Iran's foreign minister leaves Islamabad without meeting US envoys, Pakistan officials say.

Today, the SBA referred 562,000 borrowers to @USTreasury for collection on $22.2 BILLION in potentially fraudulent pandemic-era loans, marking the LARGEST debt referral in SBA history. The action ends a yearslong de facto amnesty scheme by the Biden SBA, which refused to refer the portfolio to either Treasury or DOJ, even though the loans were both delinquent and internally flagged for suspected fraud. Under the protection of the Biden Administration, none of the borrowers were compelled to repay their debts and fewer than 1,000 faced any inquiry from law enforcement until today. This historic referral would not have been possible without the strong support of the White House Anti-Fraud Task Force. There was voter file maintenance in ME, which saw 141K voters removed from the rolls. Without the ME changes, Dems outregistered Reps 12-6K, while Inds gained 177K. With it being primary season, I expect to see gradual increases in the voter roll counts in various states. (2/2)
