In light of the developments unveiled in the President’s address, I call upon @CIADirector Ratcliffe to immediately take decisive action to hold all those involved at the @CIA accountable for these egregious betrayals of the American people’s trust. We all can agree that bureaucrats who manipulate or conceal intelligence from the people’s elected leaders to push their preferred policies or end states cannot keep their jobs in the American people’s Intelligence Community. Those involved, and any who knew and remained silent, must be immediately removed from their positions of trust. The @HouseIntel Committee will be following up to ensure this is done.

Once again, unelected bureaucrats in the Intelligence Community manipulated and concealed intelligence to mislead the President, Congress, and the American people. They did this to make the intelligence say what they wanted it to say, instead of the facts of what we know and what we don’t know. These types of corrupt acts are what I have been fighting against for nearly 4 years. Since I became Chairman, this has been my number one priority and, thanks to the assistance of President Trump, we have been able to expose multiple such abuses leading up to tonight. Specifically: - In July 2025, I released, in coordination with then Director of National Intelligence Gabbard, the 2017 HPSCI Majority Staff report on the Russia Hoax, which showed the American people how individuals in the intelligence community manipulated and fabricated intelligence in a conspiracy against a President of the United States. - Then in June this year, following three years of my Committee investigation detailing the manipulation and concealment of intelligence by analysts on Anomalous Health Incidents (AHIs), former Director Gabbard recalled the Intelligence Community Assessments (ICAs) on AHIs, which involved similar corrupt acts. To be clear, there are great patriots working in the Intelligence Community who are dedicated to doing the right thing to uphold U.S. national security. But we learned tonight of some whose actions are an affront to the Constitution and rule of law. Their actions dishonor those serving their country honestly. I have seen far too many instances of intelligence bureaucrats who think they not only know better than the American people, but better than the Presidents the American people elect. This is unacceptable. Americans and their elected leaders must be able to trust the Intelligence Community and the intelligence they produce—it’s a Constitutional and national security imperative. To those politicians or talking heads who want the American people to ‘move on’ from 2020 and ‘stop looking back and look forward’—my response to you is we cannot go forward with an eroded, weak foundation. We must look ahead while also seeking to fully understand what went wrong and hold bad actors accountable. Telling the American people to just 'move on' is an arrogant and patronizing affront. Instead, tonight, President Trump trusted the American people with the facts, allowing them to arrive at their own conclusions. We, the American people, deserve that much. As a country, we are trying to move forward, but sometimes sunshine is the best disinfectant. Now it's time to hold people accountable, or this will keep happening. It’s not too late. I will continue working with President Trump and trusted members of his team to do just that.

Yesterday, as part of the @HouseIntel bipartisan review of the 9/11 Commission that I chair, I joined my colleagues @RepRickCrawford @JakeEllzey @RepCohen on an important and moving visit to the Pentagon's 9/11 Memorial @Sept11PMFund. We met with Kathy who is a longtime volunteer at the site and more importantly a survivor of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon who lost her sister on that fateful day. We also met with one of the first firefighters to respond to the Pentagon who is still a dedicated first responder in Virginia today. While the Pentagon 9/11 memorial site was the first to open, it remains the only 9/11 site without a visitors informational center to learn about the victims and heroism that day. We are working in Congress to ensure this is funded. We must teach our fellow Americans about 9/11 and these meaningful memorials are an incredibly important part of that mission.

Today, @HouseIntel Members visited the Pentagon's 9/11 Memorial and Chapel as part of the Committee's year-long bipartisan review of the 9/11 Commission's intelligence recommendations. The visit also served as an opportunity for the Members to pay their respects to the 184 lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon, as we look ahead to the 25th anniversary in a few months. @Sept11PMFund

Tonight FISA 702-our nation's most critical national security authority-will expire because Senate Democrats are playing politics with the safety and security of Americans. The House passed a sensible reform and 3-year reauthorization bill on April 29th, which is waiting for Senate action. There is no excuse for Senate Democrats' complete abdication of their Constitutional responsibility to protect Americans.

I commend the intelligence community for retracting their 2023 report “Assessment of Anomalous Health Incidents.” This report mischaracterized the NIH study on anomalous health incidents (AHIs). Our research was not complete at the time of this report.  Nor was our study designed to determine whether a foreign adversary or external mechanism caused these health effects. Findings that individuals may have been coerced by persons outside of NIH into participating in our study are deeply troubling and may represent a serious breach of ethical and human subject protections. NIH research must always be voluntary and informed without exception. Those affected by AHIs have suffered greatly. The complexity of the brain means some effects may not be apparent using current technology, underscoring the need for continued scientific study and transparency. We will work in good faith with Congress to ensure accountability, integrity, and care for those harmed. @RepRickCrawford

This is huge news for the AHI victim community, analytic integrity, and for the American people. These flawed, fraudulent, and manufactured Intelligence Community Assessments (ICA) have caused significant harm to some of our nation’s bravest. ICAs carry a great deal of weight, particularly when declassified as part of a public messaging effort, as was done with the AHI ICA. The assessment was deliberately manufactured and used to discredit some of our nation’s bravest and impede their access to medical care. As was the case with other high-visibility intelligence assessments, it fell far short of analytic integrity standards. Today’s action by @DNIGabbard is a glimmer of hope for our nation’s intelligence officers, service members, and diplomats stationed around the world who have defended this country in austere locations and subsequently had the nation they served turn its back on them. Thank you to Director Gabbard for keeping her commitment to this Committee and me, and for her overall willingness to do the right thing. I am incredibly grateful.

As possible bad actors, suspected terrorists and those seeking to do our nation harm, like this Somalia official, are trying to enter the U.S. for the World Cup this week, Democrats have decided it’s a good time to let the nation’s most critical national security authority—FISA 702— expire. espn.com/soccer/story/_…

For years, the Iranian regime has beaten, tortured, and murdered its own people while chanting “Death to America.” @POTUS is putting American national security first and sending a simple message: America will not back down from a regime that threatens our homeland, our citizens, or our allies.

The U.S. is at an elevated threat level with the FIFA World Cup games beginning this week, America’s 250th Birthday and related celebrations this summer, Iran and its proxies targeting U.S. military personnel daily, and the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks later this year. .@HouseGOP passed a full 3-year reauthorization of the critical national security authority- FISA 702 on April 29 with important reforms to enhance transparency and accountability. Now, Senate Democrats have chosen to compromise U.S. national security and the safety of Americans for strictly political games. This is unserious and very dangerous behavior.

Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Mark Warner are all Members of the Gang of 8, read-in to the highest levels of national security threats. But as 45 countries descend on North America for the FIFA World Cup, these Democrat "leaders" are allowing the reauthorization of FISA 702 to devolve into a personality contest for the Director of National Intelligence, who does not even have the authority to conduct 702 targeting or collection. This is a complete abdication of their constitutional responsibility to protect the American people. It's reckless and irresponsible.

To my Senate colleagues: STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH 702. Getting this right to protect America from foreign spies, cyber saboteurs, and global terrorists while tightening protections against abuses is one of the most important RESPONSIBILITIES we have as a Congress. Whatever you think of the President’s personnel decisions, the Director of National Intelligence - acting or confirmed - doesn’t even use 702. This is the wrong fight at the wrong time. Pass the bill and get this done!

The CCP is the greatest national security threat facing America! The CCP is actively targeting former military and intelligence personnel through recruitment platforms and networking sites to gain access to sensitive information… They will stop at nothing to undermine the United States. We have to put America’s national security first!
