I appreciate the perspectives brought to the table yesterday by @FBI, @CISAgov, @DHSgov I&A, @ENERGY, and thank @RepRickCrawford and @RepScottPerry for facilitating this crucial discussion as we modernize and unify our approach in the counterintelligence fight. By working together—across federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and public/private sectors—we can identify, detect, report, deter, investigate, exploit, an neutralize foreign intelligence efforts against the American people.

Recent indictments reveal $2.5B in U.S. AI servers were allegedly diverted to China using fake documents & staged inspections. This isn’t collaboration. China seeks to steal, copy, and replicate our technology, undercutting American industry and innovation. @ChinaSelect Chairman @RepMoolenaar has repeatedly emphasized that maintaining our technological edge, through strong export controls, oversight of AI chips like Nvidia H200, and enforcement of U.S. law, is essential to protecting national security, jobs, and global competitiveness. China is a competitor, not a good-faith partner.

The #FBI seized multiple domains linked to Iranian intelligence that were actively used to facilitate cyberattacks, post stolen data, and call for the killing of regime dissidents and U.S. residents. The @FBI has identified cyber actors associated with Russian Intelligence Services targeting users of commercial messaging applications, including Signal. The campaign targets individuals of high intelligence value, including current and former U.S. government officials, military personnel, political figures, and journalists.   Globally, this effort has resulted in unauthorized access to thousands of individual accounts. After gaining access, the actors can view messages and contact lists, send messages as the victim, and conduct additional phishing from a trusted identity. At yesterday’s @ChinaSelect hearing, Chairman @RepMoolenaar warned that China is cornering the U.S. medicine market, from generic drugs to the cutting-edge biotech pipeline. Today, that warning was made real: a Chinese researcher at @UTMDAnderson tried to smuggle NIH- and DoD-funded cancer research to China. Donald Trump was overwhelmingly elected by the American people to be our President and Commander in Chief. As our Commander in Chief, he is responsible for determining what is and is not an imminent threat, and whether or not to take action he deems necessary to protect the safety and security of our troops, the American people and our country.  The Office of the Director of National Intelligence is responsible for helping coordinate and integrate all intelligence to provide the President and Commander in Chief with the best information available to inform his decisions.  After carefully reviewing all the information before him, President Trump concluded that the terrorist Islamist regime in Iran posed an imminent threat and he took action based on that conclusion.

Thousands of Chinese “fishing vessels” forming coordinated flotillas near Taiwan aren’t normal fishing activity, they’re part of the CCP’s gray-zone playbook. A former U.S. Marine Corps intelligence analyst with a Top Secret clearance has been indicted for allegedly transmitting classified national defense information, including documents sent to a recipient believed to be in the People’s Republic of China. This case underscores the serious counterintelligence threat the CCP poses. The CCP’s relentless efforts to obtain sensitive U.S. information demand vigilance. Former Marine Intel Analyst allegedly transmitted classified defense information on two occasions in 2022 and 2023… the second time, sent to someone believed to be located in China. He was caught and has now been indicted.
