"EUROPE MUST PAY!" *Europe starts paying* "NO, NOT LIKE THAT" Seriously, this is tiresome, it's all so obvious. It goes without saying that if you choose to withdraw support, which is your choice, you don't get to determine what other states do.

@papistslayer @FreakyBro2003 Lets say they didn't personally partake in pillaging, they would still hold command over their troops. So either they ordered them to pillage(which they did during Chevauchées) or they failed to discipline their own levies. Either way no good look for knights.

@papistslayer @FreakyBro2003 @Lylanthia @S0meRandomGuy01 @Pirat_Nation Of Carcassonne still stands to this day, the rest being burned by the black Prince after his army was done looting. I don't mind discussing this, but do meet me half way and tell me why there is hardly any early medieval building still standing in the Narbonne region. 2/2

@papistslayer @FreakyBro2003 @Lylanthia @S0meRandomGuy01 @Pirat_Nation Gee thx for the ad hominem, really spices up every conversation. Look I get the fear of revisionism but this part of history is actually pretty neat because it's so well documented and its effects are still visible to this day. For example it's the reason only the upper part 1/2

@Saturn_Shuttle @audy_maulizar @MythosMasonry @callistoroll While you're not wrong about steel quality you're also not right, good iron was very prevalent in Europe while good iron in Japan was relatively more rare. This discrepancy dictated sword being designed for the average japanese iron quality, not the best. thus being weaker.

@audy_maulizar @MythosMasonry @callistoroll Also not an expert, but I do read about the subject often enough. This is generally a myth, the best Japanese steel was generally equivalent to the best European steel. Differential hardening was done by just about everyone pre-Industrial revolution to overcome issues with (1/2)

@LaBreezercabra7 @MothNessMonster @KamalaStinks @cbboyer @souljagoytellem What are you talking about, that doesn't make any sense. Right-wing authoritarian states like fascists Italy, Francoist Spain and the Argentine junta all had robust state funded public schooling. So unless you are mistaking libertarianism for right wing, you are wrong.

@Kerrie_lloyd1 Today is the day of the Airforce, so these should be f35's flying sorties from Vonkel toward Soesterberg where the ceremony takes place. You always could tweet at the Dutch Airforce, they usually are quite quick to respond.

@phl_phillies @sullie @JackCarrUSA Of course the Netherlands has remembrance moments where the flag of our liberators are flown. You have big events like the airborne days in Arnhem and smaller local gestures like Canada day in mijn home town of Bergen op Zoom.

@sullie @JackCarrUSA Marched in the De Vierdaagse 1977 thru 1985 50km in full gear. Nijmegen was a military march but has turned civilian. The flags of multiple nations are displayed for the march then removed. Again where in the Netherlands have you seen the USA Flag outside the 4 days Nijmegen.

This has to be the longest standing ovation for anyone or anything I have ever witnessed. 4000 high school students in Normandy, France standing to honor our World War II veterans. This area in northern France has not forgotten the events of 80 years ago. Honored and humbled beyond words to be here with my daughter volunteering with the @bestdefense_ supporting their mission to “take care of the ones who took care of us” assisting World War II veterans as they return to the sand and soil on which they fought.

@rezzyredhonky @CasitaSD17 Look about bashing stupid people but marxist doesn't have to mean Communist(as many would assume). Marx also was an accomplished philosopher and scientist. Using marxist Historical materialist analysis can give new insights without delving into politics.

@Th4Engineer @RogueRequest @RK9311414785238 @TheCriticalDri2 Iirc Paul Verhoeven was mainly influenced by his dislike of the books style of writing and his experiences during the second world war in which his neighborhood got bombed multiple times and he experienced nazi occupation first hand. He wasn't a Communist, just hated fascists.

Go for it Muslims, punish Biden who has sympathy for you by making sure the guy who wants to get rid of Muslims with cruelty is president. Just remember you’ll own result, Dems won’t be able to do anything for you while you watch your friends and family get deported.
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

I’ve had the same conversations with all my Muslims friends and family members over Thanksgiving. Not a single one says they will vote for Biden again, having voted for him in 2020. Every single one says it’s because of Gaza. Dems need to understand that the anger is very real.

Humans can only survive without water for about 3 days. Gaza has run dry. The blockade on water, food, and electricity is an indiscriminate, collective punishment and a crime. It is cruel and unjust. To save millions of people in Gaza - nearly half children - it must end. Now.
Bel Trew@Beltrew

Urgent: Water has now run out in Gaza according to the UN “It has become a matter of life and death”. 2 million people at risk. Statement below 👇🏼

@elijah_elessar @gaslightyourmom @Longnosedfish Like I said unless you are a hardcore monarchist or like warlords there is no current system of government that isn't to some degree based in enlightenment liberalism. The US system for example is entirely based on it, with the constitution reading like a list of liberalism ideals

@slow___up @elijah_elessar @gaslightyourmom @Longnosedfish Well, no. Every modern governmental type finds its roots in enlightenment liberalism. If you live In a place where you can vote you have liberalism to thank for that. Even other systems like libertarianism, communism and even fascism find their origin with liberalism.

@FanFerraro @LivFaustDieJung According to the IBC program the US and coalition forces between 2003 and 2010 were only directly responsible 13,807 civilian casualties, the rest being attributed to IEDs, militias and other causes . Russia will reach this number next year if this trend continues.

@LivFaustDieJung apples and oranges. make a more sensible comparison like the first couple years of the Iraq invasion and you have the US having killed at a minimum around 100k civilians, while the figures I'm seeing for Ukraine so far are ~8k

Show me a war with no war crimes on either side and I’ll show you peacetime. Doesn’t exist. Nothing to do with a “To Do List” - again you’re extrapolating data for a conclusion it doesn’t show.
