Alright, there has GOT to be a way to get the Virginia maps back. The state constitution bans gerrymandering, and per the VA supreme court's interpretation, there's no time to amend the constitution before the midterms. So what are the other options?
Even if they repeal relevant state laws, can they apply the repeal to something that's already happened, or do they have to start again? Further, how do they get around the VA Supreme Court's interpretation of Article VII, Section 1 of the state Constitution?
I feel like if Spanberger just drew new maps without a constitutional amendment, she'd run into the VA Supreme Court again. And if she ignored them and did it anyhow, what would that even look like? She'd just keep running into the court. Anyone have any ideas?
