Save water from ethanol blending 🚨 BJP government is pushing aggressive ethanol blending, but at what cost? India uses 15 crore liters of petrol daily. At 85% ethanol blending, we need 12.75 crore liters of ethanol every day. ➡️ 1 liter ethanol = 2,860 liters of water ➡️ Daily water use = 364+ billion liters Now compare: India’s daily drinking & household water use = 140 billion liters Ethanol will consume 2.6 times more water than what 1.4 billion Indians use daily. Most of this water goes into growing sugarcane, draining groundwater in already stressed regions. We are already a clean water deficit country and have destroyed major rivers in the name of religion. This ethanol blending will push India into becoming a forever famine country. #Ethanol
