When you arrive at Terminal E at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, the line outside looks fairly manageable. But in reality, it starts in the basement, goes up a floor and zigzags through baggage check, then runs outside before snaking around the check in counters.

Think lines at TSA checkpoints are too long? Wait until you see the those created by the proposed SAVE Act. You’ll have to register to vote IN PERSON ONLY and have to find or buy extra documents that might put you in even more lines at DMV, county court, post office, etc, etc…

James Talarico says poverty is violence and prison is violence and we should try something rooted in love.
Easy thing to say from a podium. Much harder to say to a mother standing over her child’s tiny coffin.
Poverty is not violence. Millions of poor people grow up with nothing and still choose not to brutalize innocent people. Poverty is not an excuse for evil. Crime victims should not be asked to love the person who destroyed their lives instead of seeing justice done.
Prison is not violence. Prison is the consequence of violence. It is how a civilized society protects innocent people.
People who romanticize criminals rarely have to live next door to them. The ones pushing this ideology rarely have to bury the bodies it creates. I am getting extremely fatigued by people who have never experienced a single day in my life telling me how I should live in my own skin from the outside
